I'm lucky that Mrs V's birthday is 20 days after mine.

My dad was even luckier. Wedding anniversary 20th Dec, mum's birthday 21st Dec. One trip to the shop to buy three cards at once - "To My Dear Wife." :D

I just find it odd that anyone wants/needs to be secretive about what they spend their money on. It's almost as if they think they're doing something they shouldn't be.

Ps. Mrs B always knows if I'm I buying a new club.

Just saves me getting it in the neck and her using it against me later. Mind games. 🤯

Staying away at golf resort for a two day comp this weekend, room overlooks the 1st green and it's 6am just getting light, I'm sitting on the balcony and the guys are out cutting the green, moving the pin etc ahead of round one

Mowing outside my window at 6am would definitely go in the irritations thread for me...!

Been asked by the club to become the club secretary for the next two years at the AGM. Said I would have a think about it as need to see if I can dedicate enough time to it.

Big club, little club? Full-time, part-time? Either way, it's not an everyday offer and I imagine it will take some serious thought as I also imagine it is the sort of role that will consume your life.

Not a huge club. 600 members. It would be a part time thing. My other half is going to be ladies captain next year so has the benefit of helping her out with a familiar face on the committee.
