We've all, well most of us, done it at some point....that perfect shot, the perfect connection, the perfect flight and a perfect outcome...
The sort of shotnyou look at and think...Know what? I doubt even Tiger or Rory could have done that better...
Had one today
180 yards out, ball on a slight upslope but below my feet, breeze right to left, a raised green but I'm above it, pin is right of centre 3 yards from a slope that could take the ball off the green
4 hybrid, nice swing, good connection, great flight....
Pitched 3 yards left of the pin sat down sharpish, kicked a little right to leave a 6 inch tap in birdie....
It's what keeps you coming back for more..

Nice 😎

But Rory or Tiger would have been hitting an 8 iron :ROFLMAO:

I played in a pairs open comp on sunday, the course we played at had a little reflective piece attached to the top of the flag so it was easier to ping with the rangefinder.

Some of the golf tat people sell on Facebook market place, or should I say, the prices people advertise them at!

£150 for a battered set of Slazenger or Dunlop irons (sports direct type, not the old classics), or £80 for a hippo driver etc. I’m guessing it’s not the former owner trying to sell them, rather an estranged wife/husband, grandkids etc.

For first time Europe Ladies beat Asia-Pac Ladies in an Amateur Ryder cup format competition (Patsy Hankins Trophy) at La Manga…and our Lottie comes away with three wins and a half out of five matches (best record I think in the Europe team). Very well done Lottie.

But my - it can be tough being an elite amateur golfer. Five rounds in three days in Spain - flying back this morning and walking Hankley this pm with her coach/caddie ahead of tomorrows final qualifier for the AIG Ladies British Open.

And to tomorrow it’s 08:27 tee time playing with Anne van Dame (seriously good and pro tells me she has a fabulous swing) and Pornanong Phatnum (runner up to Georgia Hall in 2018 Women’s Open). Going to head along to watch as are a load of members of our club. Should be good and a real challenge for Lottie. Good luck lass.

Dundonald looking splendid in the sunshine and the views to the mountains of Arran are glorious.

But I’ll add. Watching putt after putt being holed or missed does not for interesting viewing make, and it certainly doesn’t show the medium to long game skills that many of the top level ladies absolutely excel at. We know that their short game is tops…we see a little of that…but not very much of their longer stuff.

Who is this 'our Lottie' person? I doubt anyone knows who she is. You should try 'bigging her up' a bit so we all know about her. Does she play somewhere near you?

Lottie Woad is a member of my club who started playing as a 6 or 7yr old when her dad took on the junior academy and, coached since then by our (now) head pro, she is making her way in the elite level ladies amateur golf. And age 18 she was Girls British Amateur Open Champion last year.

My club had never had a member for whom great things are quite as possible as they are with Lottie, and through her efforts the club has gained recognition among the many great clubs in our area. We are very proud of her and wish her well in the incredibly competitive environment she is operating in.

That‘s all. And that’s why I will be heading to Hankley Common tomorrow morning for her 8:17am tee time in the Final Qualifier for the AIG British Ladies Open.

And I’ll add that having now watched quite a good bit of elite amateur ladies golf, I am a firm advocate of ladies golf as a highly skilled and enjoyable watch in its own right.

Back from a couple of lovely rounds at East Sussex national

Really love the set up and courses there

Sunday was the West course, got let through on the 2nd and didn't see anyone else until the 15th was amazing ..

Monday east course. More steady pace but just slowed ourselves a bit and enjoyed the day

Defo one of the best places for value and golf trips

£235 each including a buggy both days

2 rounds 2 buggies, overnight stay (sharing) , dinner , breakfast

Not played there for years.

That’s not a bad deal
