Having moved down to Surrey (Surbiton) from Cardiff 18 months ago i find myself surrounded by world class golf courses - never had so much choice!
When flicking through the GM Top 100 courses published last month i was really excited at the prospect of playing some of the featured courses within 30 minutes’ drive from my front door.
Unfortunately, i just can't justify handing over £100 plus for a round of golf, that's providing you are allowed through the security gates and/or are fortunate enough to be invited by a member!

On my wish list this year would be:

A day at Sunningdale playing both the old and new courses
St George's Hill
The Berkshire

On my “pigs might fly list” would be:
Queenwood
The Wisley

My realistic list would be:

The Addington
West Hill
Royal Porthcawl
Pyle & Kenfig
Machynys

Ladybank (I always seem to be on holiday when they hold their open)
Boat of Garten
Spey Valley
Nairn
Gullane #3
Blairgowrie

Gleneagles would be nice but maybe out of my price range!

Playing the old course, castle and new next year so that's 3 ticked off on my planner!

the other course I would like to play is Siloth, good reviews and not too expensive either :)

Gullane #3 is a course I've also not played so if you fancy a game there sometime let me know.

I have fairly modest ambitions for courses that i hope to play!

Have been looking at Corhampton for a while now, will hopefully get round to playing there next year.

Of all the courses in all the world that you fancy playing but haven't, you choose a 9holer wedged between a housing estate and industrial units in the middle of Cambuslang??

Are you mental??
Must be i suppose , I've played most other courses in my surrounding area except that one . I've also played over 100 courses in Scotland including a few that are in the top 100.

The question was "courses you'd like to play but haven't got round to" not the best or in the top 100 .

Fair play to you.

It just tickled the old funny bone when most people are quoting all these top end, exclusive and famous courses steeped in history - then you throw Cambuslang into the mix??

Im due to travel there next year in the team match (if I get picked), although I wont be too disappointed if I get dropped that week. Hope you enjoy it and play well when you do get a game, but dont be too worried if you forget your camera!

I worked in Cambuslang many years ago and know exactly what you mean, but the course its self is said to be kept in good nick, and is only a 10 minute drive from Uddingston.
Where do you play ?.
