It has bomb craters in the fairway.
We used to play in the evening, and you paid in the local pub.
That was the rumour, but I'm pretty dubious - having seen bomb craters elsewhere (Walton Heath has a few). Nice looking feature though, and strangely, perfectly positioned!
4th hole is possibly driveable for big hitters (or even me if the fairway is frozen!) as the fairway slopes to the green, which has two distinct tiers, the drop being about 4 ft!
A lot of effort goes into keeping the entire course 'natural'!
