Utd's passing is woeful and they are so stupidly slow compared to Newcastle.

We can’t blame the players for being slow. But we can blame those who brought them in for failing to realise that, whist you can hide one slow player if you have pace alongside him, you can’t hide at least five players who are too slow to play in the same side at the same time at this level.

The recruitment at United has been awful for a decade. During the last couple of years it has been worse than that. De Ligt and Maguire both need someone with legs alongside them. Not to be playing together. And we all know Eriksen and Casemiro are beyond slow.

Amorim has an absolutely massive task on his hands. This is the worst United squad I have seen in fifty years. And, given the money squandered, that is shameful beyond belief.

hopefully Eddie gives us a kick up the arse at half time....some signs of complacency creeping in...could easily be level with the two chances Man U have spurned.

Mind you...we could easily have had four ourselves.

Half time came at the right time for the Toon. They had become complacent. Hopefully Eddie can give them a rocket and get their focus back.

As for Amorim, I hope he sticks to his system and, if the players can't adapt, then ship 'em out and replace as required.
This season was a write-off before he arrived, certainly in my head.
As long as we show some kind of improvement by the end of the season, I'll be happy.
Then, and only then, can the real work begin.

You don’t look to bad when you have the ball.
It’s when Newcastle have it you look a mess.

Can he be that rigid? If he hasn't got the players right now then surely he has to compromise to a degree.

Yes, because then he'll know what he has to work with and who will/won't fit his system.
Then he'll know which positions he'll need to fill.
(Currently about eight!)
I agree it's pretty clear now but sticking to a system that doesn't suit the players he has starts to look like stubbornness. I'm sure he can already show the DoF what the issues are, now he has to get through the rest of the season in better shape than they currently are. He can go back to his preferred system over the summer and in pre season.

That’s a heck of risk to take

Surely as manager you need to adjust the tactics and system to fit the players you have to get the best out of them

he needs to get some results

Can’t wait until he can get his own players in - it might be too late by then

Spot on imo

He needs to get a tune out of the players he has at the moment

If that means adjusting things then he needs to do it

Maybe he'll be shopping in this upcoming window.
