The officials judgement that it was inconsequential seemed right though - he was never getting close to the ball.
And Shearer's assessment that the shirt pull lasted 5 seconds was funny. 5 seconds of slow motion replay is about 1 second.
It’s foul though and really annoys me how much they let go.

I think it was at the beginning of last season the pgmol came out and said there was so much of it going on in the box there’d be 10-15 pens a game if they gave everyone, so therefore they were “raising the threshold of when to get involved”

So what! If that’s what it would of took to stop the shirt pulling then they should of gone for giving a foul everytime until the players learned.

Back to the Soton one, that decision is ok with hindsight, but whst if the keeper had dropped the ball or mistimed his jump! Terrible decision, should of been a pen imo.

Just seen Bernardo Silvia’s assault on the Wolves Keeper. Personally I would be a bit embarrassed to be pushed around by a dwarf. Another thing. Who was the defender picking up Silva. Why did he not help his keeper. Perfectly good goal by

They'd been having some banter all match. The big bully that is Bernardo accidentally trod on his tootsies earlier. Keeper playfully tugged his earlobe later (ahh) so not as if it should have been a surprise to the keeper that he'd have the huge frame of Bernardo to deal with at the corner.

It's all very amusing to read though :)

“In October 2021, the Premier League said it had “received legally binding assurances that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not control Newcastle United Football Club” and Staveley described PIF as “an autonomous commercially driven investment fund”

Wonder if it’s an “honest guv” type of legally binding assurance

Just turned Sky on to watch the build up to Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace.

They’re talking about Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool. 🤣

Maybe Forest or Palace will get a mention a minute or two before the game!

It’s always the way for MNF

They spend the first bit going through the games over the weekend and then the last 30/40 mins going through the teams tonight - it’s why they start at 6:30

The first 20 mins was on about Soton , Leicester and Everton - it was a hard watching listening to Aaron Ramsey

Will be interesting to see who the refs favour tonight - neither are one of the protected 6 😉

Eddie Nketiah heavily linked to Forest over the summer but chose to go to Palace.

Hasn’t scored for them yet. Which obviously means he’ll get a hat-trick against us tonight! 🙄🤣

First half sums us up at home at the moment - create some great chances but can’t convert.

That’ll bite us on the arse. Palace will score the first goal.

Believe the old touch on the ball these days is irrelevant - a slight touch doesn’t allow any player to then clatter someone , we have seen it plenty of times where players have been booked or even sent off going through players even with the slightest touch

This is the issue with var - it’s the clear and obvious- even with the GK touch in then went onto jones again through the GKs legs and jones would been

I don’t see the decision being a clear and obvious error - very much subjective

I don’t think there is any doubt that if that tackle happens anywhere else then it’s a free kick and a yellow
Who clattered who, Goalkeeper virtually still and the attacker moving towards the keeper,
Discussing things like this is irrelevant when Supporters, Players & Managers only see their side of the story when it's blatantly obvious the other way

Dunno...I've watched the first half and both teams will do well to score 0.

Last 25 minutes have been utterly devoid of any sort of quality.

Elliot Anderson stands out head and shoulders above the other 20 outfield players.

Anderson does look very good , some great runs

Newcastle only sold him I guess due to PSR
Apart from the stamp on the foot of the Chelsea player in the penalty area in the 1st half
stamp on the foot ?
