Birmingham away on the opening day, already moved to 5.30pm for Sky.

Two biggest clubs in the league :sneaky:
All League 1 games are on at 5:30 on the opening day. Sorry to burst your bubble 😄

May still be on Sky though as they are launching Sports+ next month and will show a lot more EFL games

How do EFL fans feel about their teams prospects this season?

I'm mixed on Reading. Takeover still ongoing, ban on signing anyone (only team in the UK not to make a signing) but we've got a very good young side with a highly rated young coach. Pre-season has been impressive, beating a few Championship sides. A very tough start with Birmingham away, followed by Wigan, Wrexham and Charlton. I expect 3 of those to be in the play off shake up.

Wednesday have signed a shed load of players but like with all EFL teams, it’s a lottery as to how all the loan signings will gel.
Hopefully we fare better than last season 😬

I think Middlesbrough are missing two players, and a couple of players not back from injuries before the season has even started is worrying.

A left back is required - probably the Boro’s biggest deficiency.

The flip side is 3 very good signings + two for the future. I’d be disappointed if they don’t get 5th, with an outside chance of second.

The Championship looks more open this season with the relegated sides not looking hugely impressive. You've got to get into the play offs IMO.

All starts tonight, doesn't seem like 2 minutes since the season finished. Hopefully Rotherham Utd can win away at Exeter tomorrow - if they do it will be their first away win since Oct 2022 (albeit they were 2 season at a higher level)

Really pleased with our performance tonight, went away to the odds on favourites and outplayed them for 60 minutes. It was only due to injuries and no squad depth we tired and conceded a late penalty. Some big chances missed in the first half cost us but very happy with a point.

They didn’t 😭

And the BBC match report called us ‘big spending’. We haven’t paid a transfer fee in the window 🤷🏻‍♂️

My ward clerk off to Luton tonight. She's a Burnley fan so got a feeling she'll be grumpy tomorrow
Very happy employee this morning. I saw some of it on TV and Parker had them playing like he had Fulham playing in the championship. Shame when he got the PL he turned into a tippy tappy version of Southgate. If he keeps this style up they will be a good bet for top 6 and maybe an automatic spot

I find Parker totally cringe but his record at getting teams promoted isn't bad. I wonder how much is down to squad quality or his ability though?

He still has to get a tune out of them though. Plenty of managers have messed up a good squad, credit where it's due.

I can't recall what he did at Fulham but he limped over the line with Bournemouth, who had by far the best team in the Championship in 21/22. Early doors, let's see how Burnley are doing in autumn.
