Tempting fate here but you just know it's going to be a near 200-partnership for Crawley and Duckett and then Pope is going to get out for 0 or 1.

Can see the headlines now after we thrash a Zimbabwe team that play less Test matches than any other country - "England to beat India and Aussies in stellar 2025".

The press will no doubt get really excited with us beating a side that is less competitive than most Counties.

Not this year - they are playing 11!

I think its fair to say that an English Counties XI made up of lads who don't get a game for their county sides is about the level for this Zimbabwe side.

I wish I could predict this kind of thing for Pope when he plays for Surrey and gets out for sod all.

Well that was the most one-sided day I have seen since Alderaan played a home game against the Death Star

Will add though his idea about two leagues in regards test cricket is something worth looking at
Thing is, he has a point. Problem is, for all he has a good cricket brain, his clickbait borderline Piers Morgan behaviour over the duration of his media career means noboby will listen to a word he says, at least not seriously!

Or, nobody ‘serious’ will listen to his click-bait ego-mania!

This so far is also showing the deficiencies in the squad

The bowlers - there isn’t enough quality , enough pace - they don’t have any stand out bowlers
All the seam bowlers that we seem to pick nowadays are all the same speed, no x-factor. The out and out speedsters coming through are only gym fit and breakdown when playing a couple of matches on the bounce. The policy of resting players doesn't help as they aren't used to bowling a few overs then standing in the field for an hour or so before their next spell.
Roll on Jofra becoming fit again

I wouldn't judge any medium quick bowler on a dry Trent Bridge wicket. It's notoriously lifeless.
