No real surprise with the unchanged squad. Bairstow doesn't need a rest seeing as he had a year out with a broken leg. He just needs/ed some proper red ball time and chucking him in raw with no real preparation and expect to keep wicket properly was never going to work.

Need to see more from Robinson next test.

He won't be playing, they won't want to carry him until they get his back sorted. It is hard enough with Stokes having to manage his work load, they can't afford another bowler who can't bowl

I can't believe they've not bought Foakes in, but then they should have done that for the last match, so suspect they feel pot committed now.

The only decision appears to be who comes in for Robinson, which I suspect will be Jimmy.

Well with the announcement that England have bottled it I suspect the team will be

Duckett
Crawley
Root
Brook
Stokes
Bairstow
Ali
Woakes
Broad
Wood
Anderson or Robinson

will be amazed if Anderson doesn't play what will very likely be his final Ashes test at Old Trafford

And I am fully expecting a retirement confirmation after the Ashes is done.

It made me chuckle when bbc said that one of the English girls took a world class catch - she literally jumped 6 inches and stuck her hand out

I’ve just watched the Sophie Ecclestone catch and, let’s be honest, it would have been rather embarrassing if she hadn’t caught it.

I had expected something absolutely spectacular having read some of the reporting, and the reaction of the two female commentators on the BBC was rather over the top.

Personally think you are doing a huge disservice. She's at full stretch off the ground, one handed with the ball hit pretty hard...it's not a dolly by any stretch of the imagination.
