Random Irritations

Can’t we have one thread or its own subforum to discuss the GE? Any politics anywhere else gets an instant ban! Any personal insults, an instant ban.

To suggest the GE is in any way comparable to the importance of a discussion on dress codes is laughable and nonsense 😂
But what if a prospective Prime Minister is seen with an untucked shirt?

Surely the people have an inalienable right to see the waistband of any and all future leaders?

Such issues are too weighty to be discussed here and require specialist, secure, heavily guarded spaces on the internet.

…and apparently the Greens are putting in their manifesto that councils will be able to issue compulsory purchase orders on golf clubs to buy their land for housing…

…I think I could have invented that one…but we wouldn’t be able to discuss it were it ever to come to pass - and if you tell me that it would never happen I’m afraid I might not believe you. 🧐😜

Stranger things have happened.
I heard a wee tale that the Balmoral 9 holer has been earmarked for social housing now that Andy is not using it.

Only one day in and I'm already sick of hearing about the election. However, my wife is delighted as she gets to do a whole load more work as a voting assistant.

So all the comparison sites had my cheapest quote at £500 and my actual renewal just came in. Was £387 last year, renewal price is £370. So I think I’ll be staying with my current insurer. 😂
My colleague had this however he hadn't seen the upped his excess from £250 to £550

Ordering through Amazon a replacement drive belt for my Flymo hover mower, and having delivered a packet that has a label that says the right thing, but contains two little packets of springs. And I just can’t be bothered going through the hassle and cost of returning them.
Don't Amazon do royal mail collection returns? So could even stay home? Worth a go

My house insurance is due for renewal, gone up by 30% , now double what it was 3 years ago.
Went online and only found two quotes that were cheaper (companies I have never heard of) and some quotes that were twice the cost on my existing insurer.

They are never going to be able to afford it.

Our 10 year old 24inch bedroom tv packed in, so the wife went by herself to Currys to buy a replacement.
Just as well she called me before she got it.
Turns out it was only a monitor for PCs and streaming and couldn't receive digital aerial signals, and Currys don't take returns unless they're faulty, Phew!!

Fairly sure curry’s would be outdone by the consumer rights act
