Random Irritations

I paid for my daughter’s wedding/wedding dress/reception. They separated 10 months later. I paid him £2,000 to leave the family home, and then paid to have the locks changed and a burglar alarm fitted… sadly it didn’t stop him smashing in the front door. Dragging my daughter out onto the drive and using her as a football.

Thankfully a good few years have passed, and everything is just a distant memory for her.

Shame you didn't introduce him to golf Brian - with a well placed 7 iron on the back of his head

when you park your new car the other side of a near empty car park, well over in the an end space, with at least 100 empty spaces around you, only to come back to find someone has not only parked next to you, but actually 2 wheels are in your space and dinked your door to boot:mad:

When you Google something to buy and then it shows you an amazing price .. about to buy and realise it not the item you actually wanted .. it's missing a feature you googled

Useful

Using my iPad, fairly recently it’s become impossible to position the cursor between words without highlighting, I think always, the word after where I want to position the cursor and getting spell check alternatives - even when the spelling is correct. A right pain, but one for which I discover that the answer is to switch off spell-check. I don’t recall if I have always had spell-check on, or whether the most recent iOS update has switched it on.

My grandson informed me, you have to first enlarge what you are trying to highlight, makes it much easier. :)

I find my iPhone is the same after latest software update. Also annoying autofilling words incorrectly, Canterbury instead of Can I, Ashley instead of Ash. Bloody tech trying to be too clever.

Hold the space bar down and use it to move the cursor.

Happened to me at a local shopping centre once. Idiots. My car is like me thanks - more than happy to not have others around!!

On a golfing holiday in Portugal a few years ago, I pulled into the golf club car park and noticed there were 2 adjacent rows which were completely empty. I parked in the middle of this block, and came back to find someone had managed to drive into the side of our car, then taken off without leaving a note.

I went to reception to see if they knew anything, the girl there said yes, she had seen it happen and knew who had done it, but couldn't give me any details due to data protection ...

I hate this. I spent good money on a nice motor when I retired, and always make a point of choosing an end bay if I can, and either park right over to the side of it or, better still, I partially straddle the line. I’m not taking up anyone else’s space, not blocking anybody’s path or inconveniencing anything or anyone.

The grief I get is incredible. I’m selfish, I think I can park where I want because I have a big 4 x 4 - you name it, I’ve heard it.

No, I park the way I do because the world is full of selfish people with no respect for anyone else’s property, and I’m fed up to the back teeth of having to pay good money to get dents knocked out.

Proper grinds my gears.
