Cats are very good at manipulation. If they can, they will get you to open doors for them.£350 for a cat flap that the flippin cat won’t use
You just need to sweat it out and not pander to it. Eventually, it will use the cat flap.
You could start by propping it open so it gets used to going in & out via that route.
And BTW, what sort of cat flap costs £350????

The cat flap was £100. But the only place to put it was in the side panel of the the patio doors. So we needed a new custom made glass panel which was £250.
I keep shoving the cat through the cat flap, but the wife and kids aren’t as heartless as me and open the door for him.

Friends of ours had to work out where to put the cat flap as they had bifold doors all across the back of their house. Their solution? A few bricks removed from the wall of the house from the side access to the rear of their house. A little short lined ‘tunnel’ that goes through the wall into the house under stairs cupboard…with a simple hinged flap from that into their hall.

That's not a good idea. If you force him through, he will be traumatised and associate the catflap with bad experiences.
Just prop it open, then hold your nerve and refuse to open the door for him.
