I would stop peddling that nonsense if I was you, it is making you sound like a bigot and a dinosaur. I don't pretend to understand all gender based issues nowadays, but to my mind someone who has a full sex change from male to female is a woman now.

A. I'm not a bigot, misogynist, transphobe or a dinosaur.
B. I don't believe I'm peddling anything. I'm offering an opinion which I don't believe is nonsense.
C. To my mind, someone who has had gender surgery from male to female is still, and always will be, a male.

Two things, I believe, are assigned at birth. Your gender and your age, neither of which can be changed.
Just my opinion, nothing more nothing less.
I have tremendous sympathy with those who believe they are born in the wrong body, as I have tremendous sympathy with many others who are not born as they'd hoped. But I just don't believe one can change one's gender.

Do you not think your words would be upsetting to someone who, having spent all their life trapped in the wrong body, finally transitions to become a female, then reads your words and apparently they've wasted their time because they're still a man? It's not really about what you believe. All you have to do is try, but you're not trying at all.

yes - many underpaid train drivers and controllers. We should have a collection and give it to the teachers, fireman and nurses. But hey, ho, wouldn't be the forum without quuick challenges to someones randon irritaion - i will have to remember to not be irritated by something that personally inconveniences. It wasn't meant as a welcome, it was just a random irritation.

Not really. More along the lines of, if you have trouble accepting it, better to just keep your mouth shut. There are aspects of gender I too don't understand or don't necessarily agree with, but I try to understand them, and I don't mouth off with abrasive opinions in direct contradiction to them.

Not really. More along the lines of, if you have trouble accepting it, better to just keep your mouth shut. I have no issue with black people, women, gay people or trans people, I just have an issue with men being allowed to compete against women in what is surely a female only competition, hence the title, Miss Netherlands.
As someone said, it may even have been you, that much surgery would have been undertaken which must surely give them an advantage.
If surgery is permitted, then it becomes a surgery competition.

The only sporting "arena" I have EVER been made to feel inferior is the golf course/club...part of why I don't play anymore.

I guess it wasn't other women that made you feel inferior. It's a huge disgrace that that behaviour of other players made you give up the game. Then people wonder why I won't join a club or play with people I don't know.

The wider issue I have with these things is that due to 24 hour news channels these days everything gets a headline likes it's news from home.... So you read a sensational headline about something, to find it isn't affecting the UK.

Further more... I get the impression that the main stream are gutted that this heatwave isn't affecting us and we're having a rather drab summer so far.
