Random Irritations

One of our brand new Neff ovens seemed to be malfunctioning last night…maybe just ‘user error’, but given the control display light was also not ‘steady’, I think not.

So new I haven’t even yet got around to registering it for the guarantee, though I think Howdens or our kitchen fitters might have done it for me.
I doubt it, its the owners responsibility, unless of course they have free access to your personal details including email address;)

Which both Howdens and the kitchen fitters do. Anyway, not that it matters, I’ll see today when I look to register it.
The days of retaillers/installers doing that are long gone. I definately don't register warranties for my clients...that's their choice and responsibility. Might even be a data protection issue as well.

I don't put that on the user or the fitter

You shouldn't have to register anything, if a product you bought has a 5 year warranty a receipt should be enough. Manufacturers hoping people forget so they don't have to pay out.

Agreed. It's a nonsense at best and a con trick at worst.

Imagine if people had to register their new car with Ford or whoever?

It is standard practice. Most manufacturers that offer a longer warranty than a standard 12month warranty require the guarantee to be validated. It is to stop any fraudulent claims unfortunately. I recently bought a new range cooker and once the fitter had fitted it, he reminded me to validate the warranty as if i didnt and anything happened to the appliance they would only offer the standard 12month warranty with dated proof of purchase.

I know the cynics amongst us will automatically think differently but thats the reason.

Just when I thought a day out to the Brecon Beacons would be nice, I can't go.

The name has been changed to Bannau Brycheiniog.

Can't even pronounce it.

Its still the same hills, so dont not go there

Just when I thought it was safe to go to North Wales.

Didn’t you know that Wales is only for Welsh people….😁

Re the highlighted bit, it’s never been safe to go to North Wales! 😮

That would be very odd considering Shrewsbury is in England 🤷🏻‍♂️.

The Welsh can use the Welsh term for towns and locations if they wish, it's their country, their language. Why stress about it?

I think it will be a negative for their tourism but that is a personal opinion based on no evidence. I think it will confuse people but that is up to them.
