I'm on 6-2's this week, so 9pm is bedtime for me. The mrs decides to not even ring and tell me she'll be late home from work, so we end up having to eat at 8pm, meaning sod all sleep for me after eating a full meal right before bed! Oh, then when I suggest that I eat separately from her and her daughter when I'm on 6-2's due to my early bedtime, all I get is attitude and grief :ROFLMAO:

…after a check on the NHS Health A-Z website (which is btw the place to go on the interweb for medical guidance as it’s where the professionals in the medical field go)…I think I have developed Trigger Finger in the two middle fingers of my left hand - yes - the ones right-handers use to grip the golf club. And that ain’t great given finger splints might be what I will be advised to wear. Still…must go to my GP as, though it is treatable, if left untreated it could become permanent.

Meanwhile…self medication using Ibuprofen to treat possible inflammation.

Feel your pain, I have a wrist issue in the right hand which is badly affecting the golf

Ironically didn't see a sprinkler head and my trolly clattered down it, over and my wrist took the impact

Feels fine 70% time but when I get pain it's like hell

Fortunately I only feel a low level background ache in the joints during the day, just that first thing in the morning on waking, if my fist has been clenched when sleeping the joints can feel they’ve seized up and it can be a little painful unfolding and straightening the two fingers. Then almost immediately they feel just fine, with a little residual ache. It’s also a rather disconcerting thought that one morning I might not be able to straighten them out…

Try CBD oil, I used it when I did my meniscus and it really did help with the ache and pain.

Can you wear splints overnight? I wear splints for carpal tunnel on both wrists/hands every night which means most of the day they're fine.

👍 I did have carpel tunnel in my left wrist many years ago, so maybe linked to current prob as its a very similar condition, and wore a splint on my wrist 24hrs a day for ages. As mentioned my issue is really only on waking, except could become more problematic. An overnight splint would certainly seem to be an answer to the ‘straightening out’ issue and pain.

If your fingers lock when gripping a golf club, that sounds pretty extreme, so probably best to get it sorted soon. I had trigger finger in the ring finger on my right hand, but it never bothered me playing golf. It only ever triggered if I fully folded the finger - which happened surprisingly frequently when doing innocuous things like tying shoelaces, cutting food with a knife, etc.

Got a steroid injection from the GP's physio and that sorted it.

I have an intermittent nerve problem that can affect my hands and fingers. Softer grips and wearing a glove on the right hand really help. Might be worth trying ahead of drugs.

Having agonised over the decision and decided to ask for a consulation to look into adult autism and filled out the various initial forms and questionnaires I have now had a letter advising that unless it will impact my immediate employment prospects or benefit rights then they will not even consider my referral. No option of a waiting list etc, just a no, referral rejected. They will, however, allow me to pay the best part of a grand if I want to have my referral treated privately.

Appreciate that there are priorities etc but at a time when people of my age are being encouraged to talk and look into such things, to fall at the first hurdle and be told that it will not even be considered is a bit of a kick in the teeth. I expected months, even years, on a waiting list but not this.

My wife is working with a NE company who helps Neurodiverse people in the workplace. Based on her experience up here the waiting time for a diagnosis is 5 years. Most are choosing to go private to be assessed. The cost one paid was around £500 but that was 2 years ago I believe so the cost may have gone up as demand has.

I wonder if your local Trust are putting a time limit on the waiting list, how accurate can they be if you are 5 years in the queue? Either way, 5 years or 'don't bother' is not acceptable.

Sorry to hear how this has gone.

Thing is I could have accepted 5 years. That gives me a clear choice of paying or waiting. It was the 'no we cannot help you' that was a kick.

Driving to London and back over the last couple of days. Lane discipline is just horrible. Whatever happened to clamping down on middle lane hoggers? And as for four lane motorways, why does everybody insist on driving in Lane 3? There were times I was driving for miles as the only car in Lane 1, and going no slower than those in the other lanes. The problem is that if somebody is hogging Lane 3, they're basically blocking Lanes 1,2 & 3 unless you are willing to undertake.

I have no problems after ‘first straightening’ on waking. Even then it’s just a feeling they are stuck…they aren’t - they are just a bit painful of straightening and feel they could get properly ‘stuck’. It do need to have it seen to.

One of our brand new Neff ovens seemed to be malfunctioning last night…maybe just ‘user error’, but given the control display light was also not ‘steady’, I think not.

So new I haven’t even yet got around to registering it for the guarantee, though I think Howdens or our kitchen fitters might have done it for me.
