Random Irritations

I drive past an estate where the Union Jack is displayed beneath several bedroom windows and I wonder what the message is.
It's sad that there are dubious connotations.

Lots of places around Scotland where saltires are attached to lamp posts. No doubt some silly reason why.
In Aberdeen (I think???) when workers went to take them down they were threatened by some people.
