Random Irritations

I am white, and born in England. do I class myself as English, sort of but only when the Home nations are listed individually. I am British. I do not care for St George’s Day, just as I don’t care for the other saints days people use to get blaggered.
What irritates me immensely is some Bozo who for his own political dogma had our countries name changed from Great Britain to United Kingdom.

When did this happen? The UK is GB and NI.

New club fixture in our Seniors matches.
Instead of the usual post match dinner in 4's as you finish, their new Captain instigated pre match breakfast beforehand with each 4ball eating together.
Sounds interesting but in practice
every player leaves at 8.45 to arrive for breakfast at 9.30.
First tee at 1100, last tee at 12.10.
Everyone asked to remain for Captains' address after last 4ball come in.
Also, everyone takes a 20min break at halfway house - no-one to play through.
Last 4ball in around 4.40 after 20min break.
10 mins speeches.
45 min return drive.
Not far off a 9 hour stint!

That match would be a no from me.

I would need to eat before driving and I hate big meals just before playing. I would also question why the 20 minute break - does this guy have some sort of eating disorder whereby he needs to top up on a regular basis.

I run a group on a Saturday and the previous guy once or twice a year to to have a breakfast before play out of the funds. When I took over I put it to a vote only 2 players wanted it to continue all the rest voted for a post round meal.

One of the family was born by cesarean section this day. The doctor performing the op was trying hard to get us to call him Will.

I often send the message happy Will Shakespeare day.
