Random Irritations

It was £6 when I was last sent off, Circa 1985.* Think I was earning about £60 per week so about 10% of my wages.
You were lucky. Last time I got sent off was in the early 90s - £35 fine and a 6 week ban.

Was sent off for foul and abusive language - all I said was "FFS ref" when he gave a ridiculous offside against us. I got to see his match report after the hearing, he had massively embellished the bad language, including a load of made up stuff about someone knocking off his missus! I think he had some serious issues.

I feel sorry for the refs now but back then they all seemed a bit “odd”

We was defending a corner, the keeper caught it and hoofed it up field, we all followed it up and their striker punched me on the back of the head as I went by. So I went windmilling into him and we both got sent off. 🤷‍♂️

And you had to do a lot more......
Red cards are still quite hard to come by in Sunday league actually. You pretty much get them for throwing punches or kicking out at people (off the ball) - or abusing the ref too much. They don't normally give out two yellows for innocuous fouls so much at that level.

Insurance is a random irritation in itself.

My mate has a wee dog that went through a horrible operation to remove a tumour from its jaw. It actually need part of its jaw removed. 😢

Pet insurance knocked him back because they said it was dental work. 🤬

Cost several thousand.

Sky Increase from 1/4/25. Only £5 and then some offers coming off which will mean a 33% increase in June. There is little option and after speaking with them 30 minutes there was no movement by them.

I really do despise them, sorry Sky

The costs are getting silly. Especially as it all gets more and more diluted unless you have EVERY streaming offering. Very irritating.
