I think it’s a pov that many would agree with and I do to an extent, but I don’t think you can have the view that law enforcement are allowed carte Blanche in dealing with situations. We hold our police to a certain standard and accountability.

Think that sums it up very well

The two men who assaulted the female copper I hope have the full force of the law smashed onto them - they get every punishment they deserve

This, as much as I do have faith in our Police and the system, we all know there are those who should not wear the Uniform and be rightly outed.
That doesn’t mean we should rush to judgement when things like this are brought in to the public domain.
We have to trust the process and have faith they will reach the right decision, whether we agree with it or not.
@Tashyboy sorry mate, but the gender of the Copper is irrelevant for me, all those wearing a Uniform should be treated equally.

“Bent” coppers who are on the take or abusing their position is a total no-no. But someone in a combat situation who might use some force to bring a situation to an end should not be hung out to dry.
The criminals in this situation were absolutely fine. Happy to appear in the media in the next few days.

Re the kicking of the guy in the head. My only grief is that he/ the copper only did it once. So why would I say that?
Any Guy that is more than happy to hit a women whether she is in a uniform or not deserves a bloody good thrashing. So before we go any further I am more than happy to argue the toss with any forummers over that. Just how many women should he of been able to hit before a kicking is acceptable.

This story has been discussed to death previously on here especially when the initial footage was released of the poor innocent thug being kicked in the head before more footage was released of what he actually did prior to his kicking. This topic will be Groundhog Day for the next 10 pages until folk move on. The ones claiming excess force was used may well suggest the murdering **** who mowed down innocent families in Germany should of been stopped with a traffic cone in front of the murderers car.

Yes, let's not forget GMP only initally released footage of the kick and were about to throw the officers under the bus because they were scared of the reaction. That was a result of mob rule as hundreds of protestors turned up outside Rochdale Police station in an attempt to intimidate.

Thankfully someone leaked the full footage and everyone saw the whole incident. Amazingly, GMP actually launched an investigation into the finding the person who had leaked the full footage.

I think you’re getting a bit mixed up mate, the initial short video of the Copper kicking him was circulated on social media and caused a fuss, it was the release of a video showing the lead up to the event that was released, by someone, to the media that the GMP were accussed of and both the GMP and IPOC investigated this.

They think it’s a bad case of bronchitis atm. Have just had a home visit from a nurse (he’s been put on a hospital at home programme) and he’s borderline needing breathing support. Oxygen levels are down but not concerningly low atm but he is physically struggling to breathe.

Thanks to all those who have sent their wishes.
Ah bless him. Hope he is soon on the mend.

That's true and my mistake - it was the IOPC who wanted the source revealed.

Just coming up 4 weeks for me. I thought it was just an irritating cough now but someone commented today that I sound like Darth Vader after walking between bars.
My wife had covid a few months ago - but since then she has had a dry hacking cough on occasions - it comes and it goes. Been to GP last week and diagnosis is post-viral bronchitis. She's been prescribed using an inhaler to deal with it.
