I have a pair of Timberland walking boots that I bought in America in 2001.
They are great - comfortable & waterproof, and still going strong. (Not that I do much serious walking).

I also have some T-shirts and golf tops bought in America that have stood the test of time.
I get the impression that clothing in general that's made in the USA seems to be of a higher quality.
I'd be surprised if anything with a Timberland label on it now is made in America. Same with most other clothing brands ☹️. Some stuff will, same as some gear is still made in the UK, but really small amounts in the grand scheme of things.

I always figured Timberlands are exactly that though - a fashion brand designed for aesthetics rather than practical walking boots.

I have a pair of reasonably new Timberland walking boots and they are absolutely epic.
My previous pair are still usable ..................................... after 30+ years!

I think it's more that clothes that were made in 2001 were of higher quality. Nowadays it's all smooth and lightweight materials that feel great but don't last half as long.

I suspect cost cutting is also far more prevelant now. A few pence saved here, a few more saved there. Hence why most of the clothing factories in the UK are largely gone. If money can be saved, they'll do it and that has consequences.

Like four or five weeks ago I got studded on the top of my foot during my weekly kickabout. It hurt a bit but nothing out of the ordinary. Massive bruise on there for a while but it generally felt fine. I've just realised now though there's a bloody lump in the middle of that foot that hurts when I press it. I guess I broke the bone without realising or something?? And that'll be there for the rest of my life now. Great.

In Saudi Arabia you could cure that by kicking a Prince.

Not sure if this is an irritation but a very sharp business practice that I saw pointed out on social media. Companies pay YouTube to show their ads and then we have the option to pay YouTube not to see the ads so they are both charging companies to get their product promoted and then also charging people not to have the product promoted to them. Clever but also a bit irritating in a way.

Most of the TV, video and radio streaming services do it too.

The hospitals are filling with flu (and other ailments) patients....the NHS has advised as many as possible to get a flu jab ASAP...
Well...I've just spent an hour trying to find one around here...
Got bored when there was nothing available before February.....not a lot of point by then...
Oh well...don't like needles anyway.....

Do your chemists not have any? I managed to get a walk in at ours for COVID and flu jab in the same trip

Last year I was eligible for Flu and Covid vaccines on the NHS - this year I'm not. Weirdly more people are getting sick...

I also heard something about a 37% uptake from vulnerable groups - maybe their share could be offered to us "youngsters".

Normally find going begining of Oct is perfect timing , plenty of availablity

I normally make sure I'm working the next day so it doesn't make my arm ache for golf
