Car finance misselling!!!!

So i m pretty sure i have been mis-sold. Have had multiple cars on PCP over the period. BUT, i dont have any paperwork as most get shredded over the years of moving things around.
Came across a website that says that all i need to do is fill out my name and some minor detail and then they will find out the rest. If it was so easy, why don the govt/FCA mandate that the companies find the people and pay them. Why this process of applying, rejecting, reapplying and waiting.. I could do with a nice Christmas surprise..

I remember when they had a big scandal around insurance on loans miss sold or something like that, my old man said he was sure he had a claim.
I half heartedly filled the form out, loads of details missing as he couldn't remember it...4 weeks later he had a cheque for 25k.

The fact that the original Nespresso Pod machines are remain pretty expensive but the newer Vertuo models can be picked up for next to nothing. I known why, Nespresso messed up on the patent on the original pods so anyone could make them but they got it right on the Vertuo so you can only buy them from Nespresson direct online or in their stores.

I like nespresso coffee as a decent compromise between taste and convenience but I want the old style pods so as I can just grab some at the supermarket but I am bot paying upwards of £100 for a base machine when they can sell the newer version that takes the vertuo pods for £50

Yeah I had to replace mine (pod style) after a few years but lucked in when I got a new pod one as xmas pressie 2yrs ago
It amazing how many 3rd party suppliers there are for pods. Most of my current pod 'stock' is by Davidoff !

Absolutely, everyone, even small, independent roasters do the original Nespresso pods.

I had a vertuo machine for a bit. Do not get me wrong, lovely coffee and bigger variety of drink sizes etc but having to order pods online was a pain (no nespresso shop near me). Gave up on it in the end.

Office has moved on site, we're now on a floor with a couple of hundred people and all they have for gents toilets is three cubicles. No urinals just three cubicles. I've tried to go for a pee three times now and they've all been occupied every time. 😬

My original died couple of years ago.. and i had to make the tough choice between original and Vertuo. I ended up with getting an exact replacement for Original. I seldom use the pods the way they are designed for. ie. i only consume a shot irrespective of what the pod says - lungo, verto or whatever. In the new machine, the pods are bar coded and do what they are supposed to do rather than what i want to do.

I had a chat with the Nespreso customer fellows and they replaced the machine at way below market price. Cant remember paying 100 quid. If you do the math on independent pod + machine v/s new machine + pod then over 2 years, the old machine works out cheaper.

Literally found this out yesterday just before I pulled the trigger on one. On holiday last year they had a Nespresso machine and a milk frother, Mrs really liked it so I thought I would get her one for Christmas. Saw the new and improved Vertuo version and thought why not, had it in the basket for a bit then looking at the little pro mo video I noticed the pods were a different shape… Lightbulb moment! Quick google and I binned it off and went for the original.

I have coffee machines all over the house including a big bean to cup machine in the kitchen. Since my ex left, I now have the office room back and that I wanted just a simple pod machine for in there as I know that is all I will use, anything more is too much. It is more of an impulse buy rather than an essential and so a £50-£60 purchase rather than a £100 plus purchase which would be fine if it was my main machine.

The Rules Thread, this thread was once upon a time a place were you could ask a question and get a straightforward answer from the Rules Guru’s, now it sadly a place were people post trying to look clever and go totally off the op’s and the correct answer becomes lost!

It'd be good if after its been established; that the one 'correct' reply/ruling could be moved directly under the 1st post
then the answer is clear to casual viewers/historical viewing, and the rest of the back & forth chats can go on regardless

I had a read and I think you may be suffering from rather rose tinted specs my friend.
The issue seems to arise when the correct answer is given but then someone thinks their version of the rule is better. The bunker one is case in point.

Like help forums that show the solution in green after the question

You still get the correct answer pretty quick from the resident rule boffins though. Surely you can just stop reading after that?

I do believe you are quite new to posting on here, no idea how long you may of observed, but the Rules thread was historically an excellent thread were people posted facts and it was an excellent resource, unfortunately it has deteriorated into people trying to “catch” the rules guys out or come uo with strange scenarios that would never happen in reality.

I’m all for debate/discussion etc, but there’s a few posts in the rules section now that have grown arms and legs and the correct answer to the op is hard to find.

See Slabs post above.

As for the stop reading comment, if people did that 99% of comments on most threads would disappear! Look at the SPOTY/Liv or EV threads and see how many post there are from people saying they have no interest in the subject.😂
