Having spent many weeks in hospital over my time, I think I’m qualified to state that these days, hospital food is pretty decent.

Apart from a distinct lack of bacon 🥓

I found out years ago that Bonnyton GC dont serve bacon rolls, my mate's already knew but sent me to place the order.
It's a privately owned Jewish club and course.

Ulrika. Comes out to say she has nothing to say about Sven being diagnosed with terminal cancer but ends the message with 'Not a decent person'. What happened to having nothing to say?

If you haven't got anything good to say, better to say nothing at all.

Total lack of class. And it comes as no surprise.

My ring doorbell system of charity workers doesn't work so well with the girls about. They want to come door

Anyways I polite said we don't do at the door sorry

Cheeky sod "why's that"

Gave him another nice put off

"Well you like to do at the window instead"

I admit I laughed and said nice try but answer is still no.

Charity is a choice.. and if I give to all of you I'll need a charity myself.

I can’t believe that people give personal details and bank details to people who just knock at the door, or stop them in the street. Just because they have a hi-viz jacket and a lanyard with some sort of ID doesn’t make them legit all the time

I've not done it since I was 18 and a charity worker stopped me .. signed me up and I did it for a year or so at £10 a month

Found out later that wasn't the minimum donation .. cheeky sod .. haven't done any of the dodgy sods since

Ofc I'll donate to charity but not at the door

As an add on to the above, I was walking down the stairs at home on Tuesday am, the bad left leg buckles under me and I end up sitting straight down on both ankles

Both knees went pop at the same time, que mucho ouchiness and sweary words, upshot is I am now into my third night in Stoke Mandeville, can’t weight bear on either leg yet and they will probably have to keep me in until one leg is able to bear weight.

Good job the weather is still rubbish, but looking at a good couple of months out 😢😢
I could be wrong but I would give this thread a miss 😖

might be bored for a few weeks so there’s a chance of part time modding on the forum.. 🤔😳😘

Get well soon.

Trying to be clever and it backfires. Leaving to drive to the station this morning, I saw a bin lorry draft past the end of the road in the direction I'm going, so I figure I'll go the other way so I don't get held up behind it. What do I find? A different bin lorry trying to do a three-point turn in a T-junction so I have to wait five minutes for that to take place. And then another two minutes to get out of the junction as all the traffic that built up goes past. Don't try to be clever on a Monday morning.

Getting quotes for work to be done. I layed a patio to put a rabbit hutch on. It was a rough and ready job and I'm now looking for a professional to come in and re-lay it properly so that it's level. Have been getting tradesmen in to quote and giving them all the same info. Lift the slabs and re-lay them so that there are no steps and it slopes gently away from the house. So far the quotes have been £350, £550, £1200 and £1650. How is it possible for them to be so different? And even the materials they've said they'd need are massively different. One said a tonne of sand and six bags of cement, another said a tonne of sand and 15 bags of cement. I've got no idea who to go with. Got three more people coming to quote so hopefully that will give me a better idea of what it should cost.

The expensive quotes probably don’t want the work so quote big to dissuade you from going with them. I knew a plumber that used to do this. Amazingly he still got the job sometimes.

I wouldn't be giving the work to anyone that things 6 bags of cement to a tonne of sand is going to work.

Never go for the cheapest, good chance it will be shoddy.
Never go for the most expensive either, it’s priced that high as they don’t really want the job.

Go for something in the middle, someone who is local and appears trustworthy.

I always start by going on the local Facebook pages and asking for recommendations , when the same name comes up 2 or 3 times, they go on the list
