Random Irritations

The what to get the 13 year old boy that has ‘everything’ for Christmas 🙈🙈

Same problem for an 11 year old girl that doesn’t haven’t everyrhing but only currently has an interest in jellyfish.

This is a situation of my own making, taking her on wildlife tours has come back to bite me.

Home come nobody has pointed out that the country is full of football stadiums that could have housing built on them?
What's more, they are usually much more conveniently located than golf courses.

Because they rightly pointed out that golf courses have a limited capacity per day which is a lot less than football stadiums

However teams could share stadium's with good transport connections rather than what's around now

Scrolling through the "For you" page on Twitter on my phone and accidentally clicked on a post by some conspiracy theorist/weird medical remedies type. Now whatever algorithm they use to show me posts means my "For you" page is full of similar posts that seem to get more and more extreme. My favourite was someone that suggested using hydrogen peroxide in your ears to open up something or other, possibly a gland. And another user that said they used a few drops in each glass of water they drunk to get more oxygen into their lungs because H2O2 has an extra molecule of oxygen compared to H2O. Not sure how the oxygen gets from your stomach to your lungs as that's a rabbit hole I'm not prepared to disappear down.

Because football does not have the same PR problem that golf has. Somehow, despite the cost and the billions spent every year, football remains as the peoples' game whereas golf remains seen as the elitist game played by the well to do and so becomes an immediate target and it is why so few oppose when it comes to courses being used for development. plus buying and developing a golf course is relatively cheap compared to buying and developing a football stadium.

People do not appreciate the cost of keeping a maintaining a golf course and many simply see a large expanse of attractive park land that they are not allowed on.

Easiest dish I learned at university was two submerged chicken breasts in condensed mushroom soup in a Pyrex baking dish for 25 minutes at 200 degrees. Saved me many times when money was low.
Chicken breasts and condensed soup at university when money was low?
I feel four Yorkshiremen might have something to say about that.

And it's reserved seats so where is the benefit? You can just sit back and laugh at them. That's the best thing.
The counter to that is if you have a bag for overhead. Fine on Easyjet for example as you get on first, plenty of space overhead. I was on 4 BA flights recently and they ran out of overhead space on all 4 flights. People had their bags at the far end to where their seat was, some had to go in the hold, defeating the idea of the quick escape afterwards. If you don't have a bag to put up then you are 100% right. If you do, it isn't always so simple.

Binmen leaving a green bin partially in the road. Just round a bend so no time to avoid it without crossing into incoming traffic, so hit my wing mirror. Stopped when I could and had to go and search for the cover which had come off. Hopefully it will go back on although one clip is broken. Idiots. Took photos and sent to the council - let's see if they bother replying.

I'd be madder still if we had to pay for them to empty them - that's starting next year!

Not forgetting all their car parking, which for most stadiums sits empty 5 or 6 days a week. Two birds with one stone. Land for housing plus encourage use of public transport to football matches. Housing and environment both sorted in one fell swoop…easy.

Cleaning the bath I noticed more water on the floor than I might expect. Quick Look underneath and leaking bend. If it’s not one thing it’s another. No matter - we have a plumber round on Saturday to fit a couple of radiators. I have another little job for him. I could get to it myself but it’s a bit awkward and my pipework skills are not the best and I’d want it fixed properly…not bodged like I’d probably do.
