Isn't that the point? He is either playing badly or he hasn't yet 'found the fit'. That clesrly wasn't an issue with Mizuno.

This is not to slag off PXG at all, and as pointed out in a different post, it is too early to judge him. But I still can't understand the ethos of changing things when they're working.

Might just be stat driven
Maybe he crunched his 2025 mizuno numbers (successful on dpwt) and looked at where that'd would've put him on pgat player stats, maybe it highlighted a change/update of some sort was needed to take best advantage of his 12 (?) month stint over there

I would find it hard to believe that he just agreed to take the money before trying the clubs. Surely when he has the offer on the table in principle, he goes to do the fitting to ensure the gear isn't giving him much worse numbers before signing the contract?? That's just common sense, I'd be shocked if he didn't do it that way.
Exactly I don’t for one minute believe any of these players blindly sign a contract and then cross their fingers hoping it works. He would have spent hours, days possibly even weeks making sure it works for him before he signs that contract.

Plus how many players are uncontracted now and are swapping kit in and out. They’ve had all this kit dialled in over weeks before it goes near their tournament bags. It’s definitely the guy swinging that’s the issue not the bat he’s swinging.

Tuned in to the golf tonight and find myself once again underwhelmed with Riviera Country club. I know it gets a huge quality field, it’s a long standing iconic event with big history. But I just can’t help finding the course pretty boring with only 2 holes that’s seem to offer anything interesting to my eye.

Also in huge agreement with Rory lengthening an already tough par 3 that’s 230yards and only 15% of the entire field hit in Regulation last year, to an eye watering 270yards and still playing it’s as a par 3 is nothing short of ridiculous and doing nothing to improve the course or the golf being played.

All that being said I’ll still watch it because I’ve got nothing better to do 🤣

I’ve played a course with a bunker in the middle of a green, I thought it was a stupid gimmick. Riviera has one and I think exactly the same.
The course looks fairly tight in places which sort of sets it part from many others on the PGA tour, still doesn’t make it a great venue.

I totally agree, a bunker in the middle of a green just a bit pointless as you’re obviously going to pitch over it! The tightness of the course isn’t even an issue as I love a tight course normally but this one is tight without any real features. It definitely doesn’t seem like a great venue, even the crowds look bored.
