Oddsocks, you do realise that you could replace TM with callaway and have a very similar view of last year .... they launched just as many drivers, and drastically reduced their value within months (xhot for £99 around 9 months after launch?).

Well trying them both again tomorrow and seeing how I get on

Bought the sdlr about 4 months ago and thought it would be the bees knees however if your swing (as like mine it is sometimes like an epileptic octopus that's bladdered). It don't matter what your swinging.

Last week I was atrocious but today was a lot lot better.

I do indeed, but look at what clubs are aimed at what market, TM launched the 11, 11s, r1, r1 black, sldr, sldr430 and now the sldr mini, all in around 36 months, all aimed at the adjustability market, now compare that with how many Cally have launched for the same market. I'm sure xhot, xhot two are aimed more at the jetspeed, rbz range.

I like callys idea that their producing less to keep resale value up, be interesting to see if that's true or not,

Out of interest have you hit the new Cobra Bio Cell + driver?

I've hit that and it was very impressive, be interested to see what you thought alongside those 2 that I haven't hit.....

Callaway have produced as much in the same period - a quick search shows loads

They have currently two in the SLDR area - BB and BB Alpha ,

Well yes it was the SLDR - stiff , 14 degree head but down to 13 degree

R1 - carry average 225 , launch angle 14 degree
BB Alpha - carry average 237 launch angle 12 degree
SLDR - carry average 248 launch angle 18 degree

The BB looks lovely and when hit it goes lovely but not a very consistent strike and the weight felt a little light in the head

The SLDR just gave me a nice consistent ball flight - nice soft fade, but could get the odd draw if needed - felt lovely weight

HUGE difference between clubs, that's crazy! SLDR for you I guess!

SLDR numbers are selling it, any dispersion data?

If you're getting the same results then it's totally down to what your most comfortable with - I'm not someone who was into trying lots of clubs until recently but when I tried a range of irons last week one set jumped out as much better for me than the others (and it wasn't the one I wanted before I started trying clubs), when I got fitted the two shafts I liked most gave identical results - in the end it came down to which felt better - doing the same with drivers this week and hoping that one jumps out as top performer.

All were pretty tight - about 5 yards when ignoring the odd one when I tried to welly it ;)

Was quite surprised at the difference between the clubs

Well had it in the bag this morning and it is gear to heat - lovely sweet feel off the face and a nice soft noise

Certainly got a good extra 20 yards of carry out there today

Impressed with the purchase
