Monthly poll 2: last year, how much did you spend on food & drink at your club

We want to know if you socialise at your club before/after golf, and how much you estimate you spent on food and drink in 2013.

I only really have a drink after a round, and a few on presentation evenings etc, so around £100 for me.

As ive recently found out, way too much. Theyve introduced a members card which conveniently gives a receipt that has you spend to date figure on it - came as a shock to a few just how much they do spend there lol

our restaurant is outstanding so I'm often taking the in laws there, having a quick bite after a round or taking the wife for a brunch if i'm particularly generous. over £500 a year easy and worth every farthing.

Bit of after round socialising is good crac so about £200 equivalent

Over £500 but that's at my 2 clubs,oddly I spend probably 75% on the club I do not play golf at any more that 4 times a year and the 25% at the club I play 99% of my golf at.

I probably spent over £500, used to go along on a Friday evening for dinner with my wife and daughter. So add to that the amount I would spend on drink and food afetr a round, it's not long in mounting up.

No club house at my home course, used to be a shop but even that's closed! Still the subs are very inexpensive

i put 300-500 down as i guess you mean normal use etc,

we had HiD 40th birthday party there also , food on that night alone was a good bit more than that ..

I usually have lunch there twice a week, usually have a drink after a round even if I am not eating, add on 6-10 evening events with meals and I easily top £500.

I put down between 100-200 as I tend to eat up there in the summer and treat the wife. Other than that its normally just a beer with my playing partners after a game. It depends though. Some years I seem to get through more cash than others. Last year we were closed for a long stretch because of the snow so my money on the club card I put on in December seemed to last way into the summer

It would scare you how many golf club members do exactly that.

We have 400 members and it is scary the percentage that never spend anything in the clubhouse.

I tend to eat up there in the summer and treat the wife.

You know how to win a lady's heart Homer...

Mine would shoot me if I took her up the club for a meal!

Really? I'm quite shocked aswell. I dont spend too much time in the clubhouse but always at least a drink and sometimes food. Probably £200-£250 a year as a "light" user.

What % at your place spend nowt Dodger?

I'd almost find it impossible to spend absolutely nowt.

Less than £50 for me and it may have been less than £25 to be honest... I know for some this makes me more evil than the devil himself but I joined to play golf not to have dinner 👹

Was in the bar last month when it was quiet. Asked the bar maid to run off the stats for me, £2.5k in 4.5yrs. The guy stood next to me asked the same question, £18.5k in 5yrs. He's in there every night and Sat/Sun lunchtime. Over £3k a year = pushing £300 a month... wonder why he's single.

Opeted for £200 to £300. Really strong bar and food service at my place. Have no issue spending my cash there.
