Met anyone famous?

Was a contestant on WWTBAM in 2003. Therefore met Chris Tarrant.

So that means you didnt win then

Maybe we should start another thread entitled,
"So Near, Yet So Far"

Fragger :D

Yep, didn't win a penny.

It was a start of a new show (no carry over contestant) and had 3 chances to get into the chair. Got the first fastest finger question wrong. Second got it right with just 1 other person. My time about 8 secs, his about 5 secs!! Last question got it wrong.

Very interesting experience to say the least. Did sit in the chair in rehearsals when we all had a couple of test questions with Tarrant who was then dressed in jeans and T shirt.

stood beside Nicklaus and Watson at a bar the night before the Open at Troon many years ago, what do you say to them? erm.....hello, I like you *stumble* *fumble* blah blah, ordered a pint then sat down cursing :(

When I was young, my old man used to play golf and was quite good friends with Pat Scully (ex Arsenal, Southend and Huddersfield defender) and we used to get tickets into the player's lounge. This was back when Southend had a good side with the likes of Chris Powell, Andy Ansah (he of Unbelievable Tekkers fame) and Stan Collymore.

I studied Sport Journalism down at Brighton Uni and worked at the Eastbourne Herald. Interviewed the likes of Panesar, Luke Wright and James Kirtley.

Interviewed James DeGale too who, surprisingly, is a really, really nice bloke in the flesh. The whole massive arrogance thing is just a persona he puts on for the crowd and to intimidate his opponents.

Apart from that, I went to school and played junior football with Gary Hooper.

Got to know a few top class motorcycle racers over the years as I used to do photography and PR work for some of them. One of them, Jim Moodie, 8 times TT winner and double British champion is a good friend of mine to this day. A few years back we went up in Jims helicopter, we were going to see Alistair McRae but he wasn’t in, so we flew on to Colin’s house just in time to help him move some stuff in his house. Colin made us a nice cup of tea and some sandwiches. We then went to have a look at his helicopter…yes, the very one he was killed in. The helicopter sits in a building on a large trailer that is wheel out with a quad motorcycle. Colin took us for a flight and considering I’ve been up a few times and know what to expect, Colin is one amazing pilot.

Its such a strange feeling thinking I was up in that very machine which was to claim his life only a couple of months later.

I used to be a chef 10yrs ago and i cooked for Samuel L Jackson when he was filming 51st state in liverpool. He bought the kitchen staff a beer aswell.

My brother is quite famous in Reading and Burnley as they are the two football clubs he had the most success at. So I know pretty well all the Reading side from when they were promoted to, and were in, the Premiership a few years back. Played a fair bit of golf with a lot of them.

Noel Fielding from Mighty Boosh and Never Mind the Buzzcocks is a mate of mine from school.

Had a jimmy next to George Graham at Wimbledon last Tuesday!!

Have met a fair few sports stars and politicians over the years.

on holiday in Banff skiing we walked into a shop to see William Shatner and we all said oh thats Captain Kirk, good way to introduce yourself !! on the same holiday Andie MacDowell asked if she could have our table as we were leaving it. Wife thinks our best meet was in Malmaison Edinburgh the morning after seeing Boyzone and we met Ronan Keating, may not agree however.

Met a few of the Newcastle falcons in their first year in the premiership, the year they won promotion then the premiership title.

Passed a ball with the likes of Pat Lam, Va'aiga Tuigamala, Rob Andrew and a young Mr Wilkinson before he was famous.

Got a ball with signatures on it somewhere at my parents, most of them still clear, some faded :(

Going on from Science's rugby related famous mates. I met most of the Saracens squad a fair few years ago and trained with the likes of Richard Hill, Kyran Bracken and Tim Horan (Former best player in the world) when I was in the Saracens academy around 8 years ago. Also used to play alongside and against Adam Powell who has represented England Saxons last year. Got a couple of signed balls from Saracens with the likes of Diprose, Grewcock etc, and got a mini ball with a personalised message from Richard Hill.

We had Calum Best & Georgia Salpa in the pup i work in at weekend , got advance warnings of his behaviour after a few drinks.. but i must say he was very good with the customers & people in general , they were in a reserved area but he was up & about most of night geting photos taken etc ,, the guy seemed fairly sound been honest .
