LIV Golf

I hope LIV do get OWGR points so we can all recognise Talor Gooch as the best player on the planet and all the Major winners don't have to have an asterisk next to their wins.

Even if or when they get points the level of points will still see them struggle to maintain high rankings

It’s reported that they will be lower than both the KFT and DP tour level of points and it’s hard to see them getting much more

It all comes back the Greg Norman and false promises
It’s time to move on from Greg Norman Phil.
LIV isn’t going away,it’s time to do what’s best for Golf.
It’s absolutely crazy that Rahm will need a pick for the Ryder cup.

You seriously need to chill in regards to LIV 👍🏻👍🏻

Brooks Koepka is 282 in the world now I think I seen on Sky, he’s closer to me than Scottie 🤣🤣🤣
It’s a joke however you look at it, you can’t tell me anyone thinks he’s literally got 281 players better than him.

Sky Bet has him at 66-1 to win the Open and is the 22nd player down the list. That alone makes the current world rankings laughable imo.

How many points do you think LIV needs in order to elevate the points average of the top players sufficiently for them to quite comfortably maintain a top 50 owgr ranking (assuming they have a few decent finishes elsewhere)?

Hint: it's not very many; and not even to the level of the Challenge Tour, never mind the ET & KFT.

Passed by the Asian tour ? Nope not for me , only appears on the screen when co sanctioned

And all the best players on the Asian Tour also make the jump to ET first

And the OWGR rankings appear to be ok for the Majors

Guess they must be worthwhile if LIV are once again looking to find a way to use them
great question.
If OGWR points are meaningless, then why does LIV want them?

OWGR are becoming meaningless because they ignore one of the major golf tours.
LIV wants to be included in OWGR's calcs because the majors still use them for qualification criteria. They do this because each major organiser has a representative on the OWGR board, so it's not easy for them to switch to DataGolf (for example). The majors have begun to open separate pathways for LIV players but that's extra work and extra complication. LIV want to make sure their players are represented at the majors. The majors want to make sure that their tournaments have all of the world's best players - regardless of which tour they're aligned with. OWGR needs to provide a better service to the majors.

“PGAT Karen”

Yep that’s going to make things better

I’m guessing most are asking for the actually monetary value

Last figure they had was £30mil in revenue and that was in Feb and required another £1bn worth of funding from PIF this year alone
You know WAY too much about LIV 😂

Interesting comments from Lee Westwood who was on Talksport with Henrik Stenson this morning - I can't remember what was said word for word, but on the DPWT - it was something along the lines of, he is concerned about where they fit into the global golf picture moving forwards, and people there need to have some harsh discussions.

My feeling is there's an offer going in from the PIF to the DPWT, and they need to decide where there allegiances are going to be.

Well the ET is the one main global tour that have events and co sanctioned events all over the world and play in countries that no other tour goes to as a whlle

It’s a shame that the likes of Westwood and indeed any top European over the last couple of decades decided to abandon the tour to chase the money on various tours that meant the ET had to look at ways to survive - and that meant co sanction and joining partnerships with the biggest and main tour in the sport and its allegiances will continue to stay with that main tour
