Rankings by their nature are typically subjective. Personally I think I'd have Niemann somewhere between 15 and 25 right now.

Would have him around top 30 based on current form

Will be interesting to see how he does at Augusta -

The field has been set for a couple of weeks. Is positive, but noticeable that most of the perceived top 10 are not there. Think it would send an intriguing message if they rocked up frequently.
I thought one of the big selling points of LIV was that they didn’t need to play any extra events?

The pga have the feeder tours but who do people want to see? Rory, Hovland, Scotty? If any of them leave what then? Do we kid ourselves further that Liv will just disappear because people want it to?
At some point all of those and the likes of Niemann were unknown and on feeder tours/at college.

Aberg and others are now making the breakthrough and are exciting to watch and in time will replace Rory and Rahm just like they have players before them.

I guess the perceived top 10 is subjective. Garcia is currently position 6 in the standings and a legend in the game, few more that will pull in a few spectators in there as well.

Liv was formed shortly after I started playing so this PGA Tour/Liv world we have now is pretty much all I have ever known.

Before this how many times did the likes of Rory, Rahm, Smith. Brooks, Spieth, Thomas, Dechambeau etc tee it up against each other ?

Probably quite regularly. Obviously the 4 Majors, certainly in pretty much all the WGC's. But, most of them would probably feature in a lot of the other bigger PGA Tour events, and they may have similar schedules as they warm up for Majors. They'd all be part of the 3 or 4 FedEx playoffs at end of season.

In smaller PGA Events, you might only get one or two playing. But, at least with more big names in the tour overall, it meant you were more likely to get one of the bigger players in a smaller event.

Folks, people leave for various reasons but it is against forum rules to discuss members who have left. First and foremost, they are not around to either defend themselves or put their perspective across. If people want to chat about it, take it to PM'S.

Further chat will be deleted and persistent posters will receive warnings. Move on.......
