Is this new?

Liv now posting player stats on their website.

These have been posted all over X today by the usual suspects as if we should be impressed.

They are as basic as it gets and so out of date as as useful statistics they are almost meaningless.

One would have thought with the money at their disposal, LiV would have something more like shotlink stats!

Pretty frank discussion by Jon and Tyrell around moving to Liv, OWGR, playing DPWT etc

Starting to look like the DPWT are happy to let the LIV players play, providing they haven't terminated their membership, and pay the nominal fine. Win/win for the DPWT, they pick up some cash, and their tournaments have better quality fields.

On the other hand a few of the PGAT players are still talking about penalising LIV players who want to play on the tour....

Listened to the Rick Shiels podcast yesterday they were discussing LIV,he had lots of positives & negatives to say about it.
But one thing he said was whilst watching it on YouTube he opened the comments & it full of arguing & vile comments.
People log on to social media & YouTube just to argue about LIV 🤯🤦‍♂️.

Reminds me of the Ricky Gervais joke,I DONT WANT GUITAR LESSONS!!!! 😂😂😂

This is standard LIV media and how they have operated on over the last 18 months - by constantly complaining about ranking points and major access they appear to think that everything will change for them without them doing anything - pretty much like a child stamping their foot get what they want

But they were told what they need to do to get ranking points

And the majors said they won’t be changing their access

Anyone is on LIV is fully aware of the consequences- constantly going on about not having points or majors etc isn’t going to change things , it didn’t all last year when they complained every week

LIV or Greg Norman wanted to break the mould , create something away from the establishment- he did that and the players seem happy with that , the LIV fans seem happy with that so just go and enjoy the LIV season , the problem is they still want to be part of the mould , they want the good bits of the establishment- sorry but they gave all that up

Players have always been able to go and play DP events provided they were members and paid any outstanding fine , that’s not a new thing. Obviously some may need to qualify

Sounds like the Vegas course is fairly short, obviously it’ll be designed around tourists playing golf I’d imagine.
Expect to see plenty of low scores this weekend.

A half hour presser with the general media and you want to focus on the couple of minutes they calmly answered questions about owgr, majors, and the PGA Tour, and paint it as how LIV media operate with the players constantly complaining and stamping their feet?

But they were told what they need to do to get ranking points
That list of things holding them up is very small, and nothing like what the anti-LIV trolls are still banging on about.

And the majors said they won’t be changing their access
They did no such thing. They all said they will review their criteria as normal each year.

Remember what I said about only seeing/hearing/reading what suits your deeply ingrained opinion? Yeah, that. Again.

The post was in response to someone talking about LIV players going on about ranking points and majors 🙄

And it is exactly how LIV media operate and all the little foot soldiers all over social media - every single week it’s about ranking points and majors etc as if the majors are missing bucket loads of elite players when the truth is far from that

That list of things holding them up is very small, and nothing like what the anti-LIV trolls are still banging on about.
If the list is that small then I’m sure LIV will be making the adjustments required to give them the points that they want

let’s not start with the petty insults of trolls - not very mature

I wonder if there are any mirrors where you are 🤔

So you didn't even bother to watch the video, and just saw the opportunity to have another little rant?

It would be a massive step to unravel the team aspect, but player turnover is already happening - if perhaps not to the extent desired by some.

Bottom line.

If there is one single player that is ranked as a top 50 player by every single metric other than OWGR, that isn’t at The Masters, put an asterisk next to the result.

That top 50 bracket can be extended for the other majors where the fields are larger.

Majors are either hosting the best players in the world and justifying their superiority over all other events, or they’re not. There’s no grey area.

Rant ? Someone just posting an opinion isn’t a “rant” - come on let’s stop with the ridiculous statements 🙄

And if they don’t want to unravel the team environment or open up the league enough to allow the events to get points then that’s on them

The ball is firmly in their court to make the changes to gain a level of points

All this “asterisk” stuff is nonsense

A player is at a major through earning the right to be there - if Rahm wins the Masters are you going to put an asterisk next to it because Niemann wasn’t there - no one is going to do it. It’s the same when players are not there due to injury - it doesn’t demean any major win and its poor to suggest

Niemann etc know what is needed to gain entry to a major - it’s up to them if they want to take that road
