Ok, I'll spell it out. Weir has made his feelings well known on this subject, and has consistently shown that he cannot be trusted to be objective or balanced - especially on Twitter.

1. Don’t need you to spell anything out

2. Please explain how when someone “talks” ie the golfer themselves in an interview broadcast what it has to do with Weir 🤷‍♂️ - the words were coming out of the mouth of Garcia and Neiman and not Weir and are the same sort of interview that we have just seen someone post from DJ

Let me guess - you are ok with that one

In an interview does that matter. Aren't you listening to the words of the interviewee?

(Biased) interviewers work hard to get the responses they are after, and Weir's tweet highlights the narrative he wants to push.

Greg and Phil have been played like a fiddle.

Considering how they both like to shout their mouths at every opportunity, they have been very quiet for the last week.

This is correct.... but it's a long list that includes Greg, Phil, etc., and Monahan, McIlroy, etc. There's only one organization playing that fiddle. To be honest, I suspect now is the time to keep quiet as twitter commentary and all interviews have been quiet embarrassing to date. I'm glad McIlroy's presser has been cancelled, I wish the organisers had out a PIF embargo in place for the week so we can enjoy at least one Major this year without the distraction.

I can see all of them for what they are - responses that say absolutely nothing substantial, but people on both sides will still want to read more into them and present it as something that hasn't been said at all.

It was always a monopoly before - I don’t think it matters when it comes to sports within the US , what they are proposing now appears to be just what it was before but with a financial partner coming on board
It was a monopoly before, but actively trying to preserve it by questionable tactics is A Bad Thing that is likely to lead to a rather closer examination being brought to bear.
As for US pro sports - many of them are unionised and have strict revenue sharing and t&c negotiations with the players' unions to offset the monoplistic disadvantages to their employees. Golf has none of that in its present form.
I don't think anyone knows how this will shake out tbh. The only thing certain is that assumptions will get old pretty fast.

It’s nice and simple for you

In “interviews” “press conferences” the LIV players have been asked what the future is

The players as a whole have said “they don’t know what’s happening” - which was exactly the point people were making in response to someone stating that team owners etc will know what’s happening

The only person who says he knows so far is DJ - who said he was told 2024 is going ahead

So from what most of can see is - none of the players from either side now what’s going on beyond any “official” released which was what was given to the PGAT players

I think the words “as far as I know” were telling in DJs statement.

There is a very small group of people who do know what the plan is.

Every one else is planning on going forward as normal. Which is what any sensible organisation would do. BUT, planning for something to happen, is not the same as it happening.

I’m planning to win the Euromillions tonight 😉

So Liv will be evaluated at the end of 2023 - obviously, you couldn’t possibly do it any sooner, and it will continue into 2024, after the PGAT have evaluated how they integrate team golf into their schedule.

That’s basically what has been evidenced by both sides of the debate on the posts just this morning, not withstanding what Al-Rumayyan said - “We will have LIV, and we will have the PGAT”

The statement doesn’t say that 🤷‍♂️

There is nothing to say with any guarantee from anyone that LIV will be there in 2024

Yes for 2023 and will fulfil the schedule but beyond that - unknown

To be fair, given nobody even seemed to know the 2023 LIV schedule at the start of 2023, then I can't imagine they have the foggiest idea about 2024 at this time :)

So DJ and Al-Rumayyan are wrong then?

DJ said “as far as I’m aware” 🤷‍♂️ so he doesn’t know what’s going on

And Al-Rumayyan said there will be LIV - that could mean for the rest of the year only - it’s a simple comment with nothing behind until full details released - the same person spoke to Cam Smith and Cam smith even said he doesn’t know what’s going to happen

There is nothing to guarantee LIV will carry on after 2023

Unless you can show me something that states with 100% certainty that it’s there for 2024 and even beyond

If there was you could guarantee that Greg Norman would be shouting from the rooftops about it

Honestly Phil, you’ve just been complaining about posters using views selectively to suit their argument, and now you are doing exactly the same thing.

If DJ saying Al-Rumayyan has confirmed with him personally that LIV will continue in 2024 isn’t satisfactory for you, there’s nothing I can do.

Just keep on living in that dreamworld buddy.

So your guarentee concrete proof that LIV 2024 is a comment from DJ 😂

So there is nothing “official” from the CEO of LIV ? No statements from Greg Norman on the future ? Nothing ?

I’m sure Greg will make a statement about his and LIV’s position when it’s appropriate - but for now I’d imagine the players want to focus on a major.

The LIV players are clearly aware of the pathway they are on, Bryson, Cam, DJ have all confirmed they’ve spoken with people at LIV (Al-Rumayyan).

I know you think everything is going to go back to the way it was, just with a load of Saudi cash, but it really isn’t.

Team golf, global events with world class fields - it’s all part of the future.
