So many questions ?

Statement clearly says the team element is to be incorporated in new merger tour.
Every PGA Tour event to feature teams or separate events to have team aspect.
What is the new tour going to be called ?
Is music going to play ?
Is there going to be halfway cuts ?
Are franchises now very attractive to sponsors with all the best players involved ?
Do players still own equity in teams ?
Are events going round the world ?

Holy S*** there is so much to digest ..

😂😂😂😂 this is hilarious.
The Anti LIV brigade must be fuming 😬
Guess it depends on why they were anti-LIV.

If it was because of where the money comes from, then yes, very likely.

If it was because they simply didn't like the golf on LIV, then time will tell. If the PGAT becomes LIV type golf, then yes. But, we need to see how this all pans out. If the PGAT pretty much remains as it is from a golf perspective (or even with other improvements that are actually improvements), and basically the LIV golf format dies in the water, with PIF simply investing in PGAT then maybe not.

I find it an incredible and embarrassing u-turn by Jay Monahan (I wonder if he was given a personal fortune), and will be interested to hear what the PGAT players think. In some respects, I think they'll be happy the feud is over, particularly the likes of Rory. Except they'll be asked a whole hosts of other questions now, so that may be equally distracting and tiring. Will they feel cheated, missed out on money for not joining in first place? How will the PGAT loving media react?

Definitely popcorn time

It's hard to fathom how the PGAT can do this without input from the players.
The Tournis run for the Players after all.....
I don't know if the DPWT is run along similar lines but if it is then the same applies...

This is hilarious, you could not write it. Months of arguing about political involvement, moral concerns, the soul of the game and what does it all boil down to, everyone was getting paid except the PGA Tour. Now they have their head in the trough, everything is hunky dory again.

Just laughable.

I think reading between the lines of what the PGAT have put out is the LIV stuff - teams and shotgun starts etc on the whole will disappear

They may have the Zurich extended a little and add some more money into the play offs with no cuts

But the lack of anything including from Norman would mean imo all those ideas about franchises and players owning teams etc will go and LIV will just finish out the season and then the players rejoin a richer PGAT

They have clearly said in the statement that the team element is to be incorporated in the new tour..
Have to wait and see what else is going to be fused together and in what way.

“After two years of disruption and distraction, this is a historic day for the game we all know and love,” PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan said. “This transformational partnership recognizes the immeasurable strength of the PGA Tour’s history, legacy and pro-competitive model and combines with it the DP World Tour and LIV — including the team golf concept — to create an organization that will benefit golf’s players, commercial and charitable partners and fans.
