Sitting with my popcorn for all the people who said they wouldnt watch Liv because it was funded by Saudi Arabia.
Take it those people wont watch the PGA Tour now ?

"After over a year of division, the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and LIV Golf, via the Saudi Public Investment Fund that bankrolls it, have announced a historic merger, it has been annoucned. The three parties have come together to “unify the game of golf, on a global basis
The three organisations have signed an agreement that combines the golf-related commercial businesses and rights of the PIF, PGA Tour and DP World Tour into a collectively owned, for-profit entity.”.

All eyes on Brandel Chamblee in particular..

I won’t be watching.

Majors only from now on

I can’t see how Saudi Arabia hoovering up entire sports can be a good thing but hey ho each to their own

I foresee a lot of rowing backwards (we're already seeing some), with people having very selective memories when it comes to their previous comments.

Hard to see how the likes of Brandel Chamblee and Eamon Lynch in particular remain in their current media roles.

The players must be absolutely raging and rightly so.
100%....especially as it seems the vast majority, if not all, had no idea it was going on.

Just have to see the Twitter reaction for proof of that!

We will be able to watch it on telly, or will they still be sticking to Youtube (as that's what the kids are watching)?

Yep - seems like none of them knew what was going on

The question is do the players have any say ? Can it happen without the players.

Unless all the LIV events disappear and it becomes a PGAT tour backed by PIF ?

I think we will just get more elevated events - but some that incorporate a team aspect in some way. And they have to keep hold of some events in different countries etc. Probably more in the middle east!

Its going to be really interesting to see how it pans out!

The team element with ALL the best golfers in the world could be great if they do it right..

Really interested to see how they are going to knit it all together.

As others have pointed out, it is going to be interesting to hear the reaction of the PGAT players. Especially ones that might have turned down millions (or hundreds of millions) to join LIV.

Did Tiger Woods turn down a billion? And a year or so later, the likes of Phil may well be welcomed back into the PGAT, over 200 million richer.

This thread is going to go mental in coming weeks, then it may well be time to start a brand new thread.
