I was surprised they didn't manage to secure one in S Africa this time but would expect that to be on the wish list.
For various reasons I've been awake early so watched between 6 & 9 holes per day. If was up to me (& it shouldn't be!) there's a few things I'd tweak but overall I find it a good entertainment product outside of the major weeks.

The Aussies certainly put down a marker around how to stage an event, don't envy Singapore trying to follow.

Dead right Iain
Singapore is going to feel like a damp Squip after that event...

I'd imagine the decision to have an event in Singapore is made from a commercial standpoint. With a population of 6 million, they are never going to get huge crowds to a golf event - but the country is an important business hub, particularly for the Asian continent.
Be interesting to see how the Tulsa event goes down in three weeks, I'd expect the Oklahoman crowds to be pretty welcoming.

Why ?
The USA is PGAT country and has first division golf.

Well that's what Jay wants everybody to believe.....
Oklahomans are great people, and the state has a pretty successful history of producing golfers through the college programme there. Some of the best golfers in the world rocking up for a tournament is sure to get plenty of interest.

No doubt there will be more Liv events in Oz next year.

Massive success for them, an appetite for their product, and given the golf mad Aussie crowd what they have been yearning for a very long time..
The Aussies love their sport , whenever there is a sport event they go to watch , always good crowds at their Aussie Open and PGA.

It’s worrying that these “party holes” are being talked about more than the golf - its awful to watch in Pheonix and no better in this one , people going to get drunk and act like football crowds - nah not for me.

The Australian Open used to be treated as the 5th major back in the day. All the big names used to go. So it’s no surprise the Aussie fans have welcomed the return of big names.

Does the Danish open still have the walk through hole where music is blasted out? Jamie Donaldson did a MJ dance through it one year.

Heaven forbid fans might enjoy something a little lively at a golf tournament
As you suggest, it isn’t new

Suspect there is a bit of a jump between walk on music , cheering and then crowds throwing beers and beer containers onto the golfers and golf course.

It wasn’t great at the WM as well

EP is spot on though - the ET have been trying many different ways to bring in the crowds and to change things up and to make it different

Without any notable success, and now they're a sub-branch of the PGA Tour.
(edit - fwiw, I thought RB's comments were a little out of order to Pepperell - he's been pretty honest about the failings of the DPWT recently and the frustrations that the player are feeling)
