It’s the first time they’ve done the teams together - personally I thought it was a good idea for the first round.

In a team game you would normally be both encouraging your colleague and giving him advice when needed. With the individual competition also taking place, this should be against the Rules of Golf. Was this waived by the LIV organisers, or did the players have to remain silent?

They would have just played to the rules of golf.
I’m not even sure why you think they wouldn’t.

For better parallels Imo look up the Indian Cricket League - privately funded away from the governing bodies etc , collapsed after a couple years
In some ways, yes. But in others quite different! Firstly, it was going directly against the India Cricket's ruling authority - equivalent to R&A and USGA with an aggressively negative attitude - as opposed to an 'equal' commercial organisation. Secondly, and probably more importantly, it's financial backing wasn't sufficient to overcome the issues caused by the first difference. In this battle, the ruling authorities are staying neutral and simply allowing 2 commercial entities compete. Secondly, the interloper has access to significantly more funding - at least in theory - and any battle based simply on funding would be won by LIV, not PGAT!

I didn't know whether they would or not, but doesn't it go to show that having a team event (where you would normally be providing advice and encouragement to assist your team) at the same time as an individual event (where you would be trying to thwart someone who is your opponent) leads to problems? I know that if my 'team mate' had to birdie the last to win us the the team event, and also to beat me by a shot, I wouldn't be disappointed to see him stick it in the pond!

Liv are going to struggle to hit the highs of this Aussie event again this season.

Without doubt their best event yet by a mile
atmosphere, course, crowds, weather have all aligned.

Have they just copied what happens in Phoenix there ? Surely not after what they said about imitation being the best form of flattery etc

A guy ten shots clear - heck of two rounds but will make the last round a bit dull. The Aussie stars didn’t do too much - was it too much stuff with the DJ and some guy drinking out of his shoe ?

You don’t half talk some drivel just to get your post count up 🙈🙈
For someone who doesn’t watch or rate LIV, instead of using Twitter to form your opinion, maybe watch it and take it from there 😀

Interesting that your response is more about having a pop at the posters as opposed to the content - seems a common theme for those that love the liv

So they didn’t create a “party hole” a replica of exactly what they do at Pheonix

Was Cameron Smith not on stage with some DJ whilst he drunk beer through a shoe on stage

And is someone not ten shots clear then

So what exactly is not correct about what I said then 🤷‍♂️

No doubt there will be more Liv events in Oz next year.

Massive success for them, an appetite for their product, and given the golf mad Aussie crowd what they have been yearning for a very long time..

I hope so, I think it will take a few years for LIV to figure out where they are best placing their tour - obviously they've plumped for a lot of US venues at the moment as that's where pro golf has established itself but I'd imagine some of those venues will be dropped as countries and venues show intent to host LIV tournaments.
This weekend has been a really enjoyable watch.

Massive win for LIV

I was surprised they didn't manage to secure one in S Africa this time but would expect that to be on the wish list.
For various reasons I've been awake early so watched between 6 & 9 holes per day. If was up to me (& it shouldn't be!) there's a few things I'd tweak but overall I find it a good entertainment product outside of the major weeks.

The Aussies certainly put down a marker around how to stage an event, don't envy Singapore trying to follow.
