Just curious if you chat to your other half about the goings on on the forum.
You know the sort of thing....has Murph cured his shanking, has Homer reached 20,000 posts yet and is Smiffy really a knob. ?
Or is this your cyber shed where HID doesn't come near?

She keeps a regular eye on proceedings especially now she's working at a golf course. She's been very interested in the Crown Golf thread. Give me another 6 weeks and I should be near the 20k mark!

My missus has had a look every now and again when I'm on to find out what's so funny or good about the forum that keeps me logging in. She couldn't see it.
Then again if it was her on a Jimmy Choo shoes forum then I'd give it a wide berth too.

As far as she's concerned, forum discussions make me a "sad loser" and when I tell her I'm off to a GM Forum Meet, I'm sure I'll be greeted with "WTF!? What if they're *pretending* to be golfers and you get kidnapped??!!"

My wife has always been interested in my golf and will happily watch the Open and Ryder Cup with me. She encouraged me to join the forum as I was always looking at it and she knew I was missing my golf banter on the course. She does know some of the other forummer's names as I sometimes have to let out the occasional "Homer, what are you on about?" or "Smiffy!" (usually accompanied by uncontrollable laughter) or whatever, and I do read out the occasional interesting, humourous or baffling post.

Nope, not at all. She even frowns at me if I laugh at a post whilst she's trying to watch the soaps!

Even if I regail the amuzing post to her, she doesn't think it's funny. We have very different senses of humour.

Like Aztec, she thinks it's a strange thing to chat to strangers over the internet. And yet she thinks of soaps as entertainment.

HID was into forums well before me (TOGS ) so understood how addictive they can be.

She was initially worried about Forum meets feeling that there might be some grooming going on. My first meet was with MWJ, MVP and Smudge. After seeing their picture, HID was sure that they were trying to groom me

Only really use the forum while at work, by time I get home and have been on a PC all day the last thing I wanna do is sit at a PC for even longer reading crap by knobs!

No, she listens politely when I come in from golf moaning/raving about how I've played but the eyes are as glazed as cheap pottery. As for the internet in general she'd sum it up in one word; "weird". For her the idea of talking to a bunch of people I've never met is just odd.
