My driver stays firmly locked away in my locker but then I hit a 3-wood around 240/250 carry, I had a drive of 310 off of our 13th t'other day 'granted' the wind was from behind and the ground was rock hard at the time...

Don't need a driver therefore I don't use it 'anyway' it's more satisfying out-driving yer mates with a 3-wood...

If the driver and I are on speaking terms then it can be as many as 8 times, in a comp when its on the naughty step it can be as little as 3

After the 1st tee shot I will know if it's coming out again in succession or if I drop to the 4w. If I get off the first tee OK it will then reappear on the 2nd and then could end up being selected for 12 out of 18 in total tee tee shots.

I never take it on our 3rd or 9th, sometimes the wind may allow me to drop down to the 4w on the 2nd, 4th & 12th but in the main, I need it at least 10 possibly 12 holes or its a wood into the green for me and I'd rather an iron. We have 4 par 3's of which 2 are 200 yards plus and I need to be on form with the 4w to hit the small greens.

Definitely one of the most reliable clubs in my bag. Hit it 11 times normally in any round. 10 times if I decide not to try and drive the 17th green. Hate hitting 3 wood off the tee, use it for 2nd shot on the odd par 5 if I'm in good position.

I played 36holes at Woodhall Spa at the end of June, and didn't hit it once 😁, but usually at my home club, 4X despite there being 5 par 5s

At The Zoo , I hit Driver on everything except the par 3's, and if the wind were hard into on the par 3 7th, i'd consider driver there too

Just need to be able to control the beast and i'm not talking about little chubby Bro there

Driver is too much club on a few of the dogleg holes

Off the whites I'll use it 12 times. I tend to stick with it unless it goes totally to crap which fortunately doesn't happen that often. It can be inconsistent but that said my 3 wood can misbehave too so I don't always get a benefit of that off the tee

Since I had a lesson on it then its been every chance I get as each time I grew in confidence.

On holes where there isnt enough room length wise I will drop down but left and right wise I am hitting it straighter so thats less of a worry.

Interesting read this thread, after reading the fist few page's and seeing that most of all the really high handicap players dont use driver to much you got to question the rest of their game. Maybe you should hit the range with the driver coz the rest of your game must stink, learn how to hit and control the driver and it should help lower your scores.
