How do you pay winnings

I was wondering how you pay winnings at your club? We have ours paid to the Pro and onto our account. I personally do not like this as I am then restricted in buying overpriced stock that he can be bothered getting in his shop. Last year I bought 4 Nike polo's and a couple of jumpers all of them top whack. Far more expensive than I would have paid normally. I would rather have my winning put on my bar card. As for supporting your pro.....well I never see him coming to work and supporting me so why should I reciprocate with my money?

Our bar card doubles up as a credit card for the pro shop, all we can't pay for from it is lessons..... I think.

Our prizes tend to be from a golf shop about 30 minutes drive away. Luckily I work near it. They take them in exchange for credit and are reasonable on most items.

Ours go into our pro shop accts, he will better almost any price elsewhere. He will also get stuff in if he doesn't stock it. I'm very happy with that.

We get GUI (Irish golfing union) vouchers which can be taken and used in a multitude of places including other pro shops, golf shops, tescos etc.

The club are damned if they do, damned if they don't.........what about the guy who has a cup of tea after his round? A £50 voucher is a whole year of tea drinking, if he wins again he's going to have to stockpile chocolate digestives on his bar account

SGU vouchers, can be used at any pro shop and 2's in cash.

The choice would be nice though. Then you could put it in the pro shop or in the bar as your preference

It'll just be a matter of time before some start wanting their £40 winnings split........£10.99 for some prov's, £9.40 for 2 pints of stella and a sandwich, £3 entry for the knockout, the rest on my bar card.

Wouldn't work at our club as he bar and pro hop are on different accounting systems - would be easier o work if all on same system.

Ours are paid in pro shop vouchers which seems fine as the pro deals with the money, entries,etc. He has good stock now and is ok on price. If nothing else it keeps me going in balls and tees.

Ours are paid in vouchers that can only be used in the pro shop which is more expensive than pretty much everywhere else.

Not that I win much but just usually end up getting a dozen balls or a couple if new gloves that I can get a lot cheaper elsewhere.

Comp winnings go onto the bar card, but you can transfer them to your pro shop account if you want to. 2's winnings go straight to the pro shop account.

Our pro shop and the pro are both excellent, so I don't have a problem with either system. He's a founder member of Foremost Golf, will price match AG and DG. Also has a good level of choice across most products, and will order stuff in if he doesn't stock it.

At our club small cash prizes and golf balls are left with the bar staff to collect when you want.
Larger prizes for open comps etc are paid in SGU vouchers that you can use at most golf outlets.
What I detest is after winning a prize you get a voucher posted to you only worth under £10.00 redeemable only at their pro shop which is miles away , which makes it not worth collecting.
