The video popped up on twitter yesterday.
I read this morning five men handed themselves in and have subsequently been arrested.

Wtf?
The commentary on the video is as bad as the act of making the model.

Some sick individuals about

Deeply horrible, disgusting people. Not sure it is a police matter though. I'm sure they will be named at some point and the consequences will be enormous for them, rightly so.

never heard anything racial in it ? Public order ? If that's a public order offence then every single bonfire is a public order offence.

A sick joke in the extreme. A public order offence, "causing alarm or distress." There's a number of other areas covered by public order offences. Its one of those laws that has a wide scope, as a catch-all.

It certainly comes under the "distress" bit. It wasn't done to deliberately "incite" but ignorance isn't a defence. Its an emotive, raw subject and sentencing, if found guilty, could be a bit harsh.

I thought I had no filter and pretty much nothing was off limits... turns out there is a line and this crossed it. Poor taste.

Sadly a new “low” absolutely disgusting.

certainly is in parts of London.
Ninja and swamp ninja are used as derogatory terms.

I think it’s a derogatory term for Asian woman that wear the niqab.
The whole thing is in very bad taste but I’m not sure it’s a criminal offence.

Why do these morons feel the need to post everything they do online though? Maybe have a drunken giggle in your own company but as soon as you post it online (maybe to gain a few “likes”) it’s in the public domain and subject to action.

Yep, the offence is gross stupidity for posting online, much like the clowns who gopro their wild riding/driving then post the clips online, just to look the big cheese then get done for it.

Also something to do with cotton picking apparently

Stupid and in extremely bad taste.

But... I'm left wondering...

What if perpetrators were not white.
What if it was a political character.
What if it was the union jack
...etc, etc.
Plenty of examples of people burning stuff in public as a protest that many would find disturbing. Taking it forward as a criminal matter may be OTT.
