Folks

A Quickie if i may, im interested in the SGX for skycaddie and the 30,000 preloaded courses.

as i do a lot of travelling mainly in the UK and play golf whem im on a sleepover would be beneficial not fiddling about with loading courses especially when i decide last minute which course to play

Anyway the question i have is does anyone have the SGX and can they tell me where i can see what the preloaded courses are?

Is this every course on the Skycaddie database, in other words, if its available its already on there

Thanks

Ultimately you can get almost every course on the skygolf website, id be surprised if the SGX has the 30'000 courses pre loaded, maybe just access to 30'000 courses?

Skycaddie GPS are very straight forward to use and sync, you can have plenty courses on it at one time so just an initial load up of what you plan playing frequently and you can leave it

I DONT see why NOT........??
I own a Sonocaddie Auto, that was bought for same reason, initially, came Pre-loaded with a similiar amount of courses already on unit, plus u can add others with Updates. Free.

I know nothing of the SkyCaddie units, but fail to see why NOT......??

Hi thanks for the replies it is appreciated.

What is the basic info is this only front middle and back, i would buy a membership but just want to be sure that this shows hazards also for the preloaded courses.

if i need to mess about with loading more data for each course i play defeats the purpose for my situation.

which is i want to pitch up at a golf course (pardon the pun) and be ready to play without having to check where im staying the night before, where the golf coursers are locally, remembering to load them before i leave and then delete them when i get back home and start all over again next time im away on business.

Thanks

My understanding is it is front. middle and back only on the pre loaded courses.

The newest one can be uploaded remotely though, without access to a pc, which could be useful.

Yes basic is just the green distances. Apparently there is room for 50 enhanced courses, which is where you get the hazards etc. To be honest if your just playing a course once and not in competition then I would think basic info wouLd be fine .... At least it would for me.

You can get the user guide online, so it might give you better info that you need.

Why not have a look at the Snooper range? They have a huge number of courses pre-loaded and you can check on http://www.snooperneo.co.uk/GolfClub_List3.cfm on all the courses available.

It does give basics for 30'000 but it is basics, skycaddie does give a LOT of info thats why it wont have 30'000 FULLY pre-loaded.

Skycaddie are great, the info can be as much or as little as you like, it will store your stats and scores for transfer onto their website in your account.

Great pieces of kit.

I have just bought the Garmin 3 from tesco direct at £119.95. Havn't got on the course with it yet because of the rain but it does look reall good for the money
