Never really been on their forums before but after reading about it being the home of outrageous fibs, I decided to have a look at golfwrx.

I clicked on 2 random threads and got to read about a guy who drove a 385 yrd par 4 and then another dude who made par on every hole of the front 9 and then birdie on every hole of the back 9... hahaha.

So that brings me on to the question, do you have any golf mates who like to make up impossible stories about their achievements?

The problem is not what they are saying it's what they are neglecting to say! It's an American forum and thus one can conclude that the truth is told like it is in one of their court rooms.
By the way I have done all the things I claim about golf, I would not believe it if I had not been there!

I can say, hand on heart, everything I've ever claimed to have done on here, I have.

..... And I know I have because I was standing there when I did it :D

There is a bloke I know (not a mate!) who is one of those guys who claims to play once a month at the most but is an easy scratch player and can hit his 7 Iron 190.Every time he starts in the pub the lads just look at me to see my expression, as I have been playing for a while.
They all think he is talking BS but just want me to confirm.Every time he asks me what I score or how far I hit it and then of course proceeds to tell everyone how much lower or further he does!
Funny he never takes me up on a trip down the range to show me his super human distance!!

I know of someone who goes on about distance like it is the only thing that matters. Hit everything massive distances all the time. Plays off about 25 as well...

Everything I say is true...there may be some small exaggeration on putt distances or something, but I don't claim to hit the ball 300 yards or knock all iron shots to about 2ft!

I'm still waiting to join the 300 club on this forum ;) close but no cigar so far...

In terms of the OP it makes no sense and is similar to the bloke who nearly became a pro footballer but had a bad injury at 16 but couldn't trap a bag of cement. Why lie? It ain't big or clever...

I've strayed onto the Golf WRX site occasionally (forgive me MikeH for I have sinned) and it is soul destroying. Boy if you think this place has meltdowns you should see the fall out every so often they have. It is made up of characters I certainly would think twice about playing with, brash, opinionated and loud

Everyone on golfwrx hits it miles, plays tour only equipment, xxxx mega stiff shafts, spends thousands a year on clubs that often only last a round, considers it a badge of honour to claim that they hit everything "into orbit" presumably because they think it makes them sound hard and have to play 7.5 degree drivers with xxxxx stiff shafts in them.
They are all on a never ending quest to hit the ball lower, despite the best players in the world hitting it mega high.
Oh and as soon as they find a club they like and performs excellently, the first thing they do is change the shaft (why? It was working!), then start looking for its replacement, only to replace it, then miss it and buy another, then out a different shaft in it, then replace it ad infinitum.
Its madness, I can't stay away from it.

Golfwrx always comes up in searches for equipment reviews. I sometimes read it for a laugh. Some of the stuff they come out with is priceless.

Wanted to see what everyone was talking about so went to have a look & this is my experience of golfwrx.....Access Denied !

Yup they pretty much auto-block access from over 50 countries across three continents from accessing their site unless you mail them with your static IP and reason for requiring access !

Needless to say I didn't bother but was thinking of sending a mail to say I drive the ball 320 can I come in please?

Perhaps if someone can suggest the most ridiculous reason I'll send it through to see what happens

This is their block message with contact details removed as I'm not about to promote the site
