rumour is that a lot of a particular manufacturers clubs were returned in the process.

Strange I posted this two years ago, Coxmoor golf club was broken into again last night with most of the silverware stolen.

Sadly any golf club which has thousands of pounds worth of silver on public display without some seriously impressive security, is just asking for trouble.
A local club was broken into last year and the CCTV showed that the thieves were on the premises for 90 seconds, enough time to smash the glass cabinet and steal several expensive unreplacable trophies. Almost impossible to secure effectively.
Even if you have people on site, it is certainly not their job to confront robbers.
It is almost worth making images or replicas of the trophies and melting the originals down and taking the money before the scrotes do. Having them permanently locked away in a bank vault seems a waste.
