Competition Sheets at your Club -What system please?

Belton Park have a sheet that is opened 2 weeks before the comp.
At 7.30 they are queuing outside the proshop to get their usual tee time with their mates. They had to stop mass booking however as some members were writing in as many as 12-16 names.

At another club I know, you put your name in a time block of say 7.30-8.00 or 8.00-8.30 etc and you are drawn partners for the comp in that time space.

We use BRS too but only for casual bookings.

Weekend comps are drawn. The sheets go up anything from 2-4 weeks in advance, with 3 columns, before 8, 8-10, or after 10.
You can request a rough time but there's no guarantee of getting it. They're very good though, a couple of times I've had to fit golf around other things and they've put me out first or last group.

Midweek is register in the pro shop before you play.

For monthly medal and stablefords there are drawn times for the morning slots which are in the pro shop 3-4 weeks in advance. Put your name down and pay your cash. You can roll up later in the day if you don't want a morning slot. All the other events are entry in the pro shop too and randomly drawn

BRS seem to be getting a fair share of the market....great system and one my club has for Open Comps and visitor bookings and hope to have members included by the turn of the year.

Their client support is superb too.

I see SteveK's club are on it from 1st September too.

For some comps its just turn up & play - same as the roll ups - but for the medals, the sheet goes up 2 weeks in advance and you get your name on the sheet as quick as you can. But it seems to work, Those who normally turn up early bag the early slots, and them who normally play later get the later slots. Don't know that anyone is ever really disappointed? But we do have three start tees which does seem to help.

For almost all the saturday and sunday competitions you just turn up sign in at the pro shop and you play with whoever books in at the same time as you. All the way from March to October we have competitions of the medal tees each Saturday and one Wednesday a month and the odd Sunday as well.

Only a few of the competitions are balloted and then the sheet goes up a month before and you can only enter your own name.

There can be a bit of a wait some days, on the turn up and play competitions, but you are not tied to playing because you have booked in advance. Really like the system the way we have at present.

What are the penalties at your club if someone fails to appear for a balloted competiton ?
