Hello all,

From the next issue of the mag we're going to be running a new spread in the courses pages 'hosted' by myself and fellow courses 'collector', Rob Smith. As part of this spread, we'll be having a small 'ask the experts' section where Rob and I will attempt to answer your course-related questions, whether places to play, ideal spots for a certain type of golf, thoughts on certain courses etc - anything really.

We'll probably be running three or four questions a month in the mag, so fire away...

What would you say is the "best value" course to play in England? We can all go and play some fantastic courses if we are willing to pay 3 figures in green fees, but what course has the best facilities/welcome for the money?

Are links greens grass different to a USGA greens grass ?

Or maybe a slightly more conformational one, Why are parklands courses ranked so lowly by the GM magazine and by traditionalists?

I really like the look of rough or natural looking courses, so for me personally What course in the UK fitted in with the land and surroundings most naturally?

What are your choices for best Par 3, Par 4 & Par 5 you've played (in the UK) & why?

Most underrated course you've played?

Best & worst counties for golf courses?

Which course most disappointed you & why?

Why didn't my invitation, to join you in rating & ranking these courses, find it's way into my in tray?

One course that is definitely on my bucket list is Formby Ladies. Are there other notable 'ladies' golf courses in the UK, courses built with mostly female players in mind?

What's the worst welcome you've ever experienced at a course/club; and which one was it?

Which of the 'well thought' of courses is the most over-rated?

Of all the courses on the Open rota, which one would you dispense with?

Who is the best, current, course designer?

Do you think any former elite players are good course designers, or is it only the specialist designers who know what they are doing?
