somewhere in Surrey / Sussex / Kent in July or August ?

Nothing big or fancy, just a meet up and a few holes, like we did at Chartham Park last year ?

Open to suggestions for venue and date etc, but personally I need it to be a midweek game.

Whaddya think ?

If you fancy coming to Cottesmore let me know with numbers and I'll see what I can sort out.

What would it cost for 4, 8, and 12 ?

I'm gonna pop in there today so will find out. Are people after 18 holes golf on the griffin only or a 36 hole phoenix and griffin combo with lunch in between maybe?

I'd personally prefer Chartham Park.
Not a great fan of Cottesmore. Bad memories

How many did you dump in the lakes at the 2nd, 6th, 16th and 17th then? Or did you only pack a dozen balls for the round?

Neither.
I played with their cocky assistant pro who took great delight in driving whilst 3 guys in front were on the green on a short par 4 (over a lake). His ball pitched into the middle of the green while they were putting out, if it had hit somebody it could have killed them.
I just wanted to get off the course when that happened and didn't really take any notice of the remaining holes

If you're talking about the 1 who "left" not all that long ago I'm not surprised it ruined your day. No-one had a good word to say about him and all the guys from the pro shop from Calum thgrough to the new lad Steve would probably slap anybody who did that. Please tell me you let someone there know that he did this?

I didn't.
We had met the guy a few weeks before when we played in a "pro-am" at Lamberhurst GC. He was the "pro" and invited myself, and the other two players over to Cottesmore for a return game.
We were all lost for words when he did what he did, and felt guilty ourselves with regard to the group in front.
He thought it was funny.
We just finished the round, made our excuses and left.
I don't know if this is the guy who has just left, I am going back a few years now. He was a young Scottish lad with ginger hair. Built like a brick shithouse

Oh no he went before I even joined. He was referred to only as "that arrogant ginger tosser" when he came up in conversation talking about former staff members. Suffice to say being part of crown golf the staff are nowhere stupid enough to pull stunts like that now! I regularly play after work 9s with a few of the staff there and they are all the best mannered people you could hope to be out on the course with.

What deals did you see Smiffy ?

Haven't "seen" any but they phoned Dave (my service manager) at work the other week trying to talk him into booking something up. He is secretary of a Society and they were offering him some kind of deal.
I'll either phone up myself today, or get him to phone and see if he can get a better deal.
Will let you know
;)

Right guys I can get something organised but it'd need a minimum of 8 people for at least a round plus some sort of food even if it's just a bacon butty to get a decent group discount.

Can people say what they would be after as in:

1) 18 or 36 holes?
2) Food - meal/snack or what?
3) Looking at 2nd last to last week of July if that suits? List of prospective dates please.

Right guys as long as there is a minimum of 8 people for £35 per person we can get 18 holes on the Griffin plus a golfers lunch which is a choice of:

1) Jacket Potato with Cheese
2) 1/2 Rack of Ribs with Spicy Potato Wedges
3) Sausage, Chips & Beans

Only proviso is everybody must make the same menu choice.

The above is valid weekdays until the end of August.

Well if the Griffin is the better course you can count me in. As long as I have the spare ribs
;)
