It's fair to say I could carry the ball better with a pair or boxing gloves than Scotland yesterday!
The missus has been giving me stick already about next week, think we are in for a walloping next weekend!
If Dan Parks gets a game I'm going into the coaching box to have a word with the head coach!
What I took from the game was this, Scotland still are making the same old errors,England have not improved at all and showed very little, I worry for both teams for the rest of the 6 nations.

And yes I thought it was cruel making them wear Wales tops as well lol!

It was pretty dour stuff all round. I was expecting a betteer showing from a Scotland team that had been together as a unit for some time. Credit to England, they manage to strangle the life out of Scotland and didn't concede any tries. I just hope that the Wales v Ireland game delivers in terms of a spectacle.

I agree it was a pretty poor game. It really was Scotland's for the taking. I fear England will get hammered against Wales or Ireland...

Considering the 'players' are reputedly of 'international standard' the youth team players at my local club display a better grasp of the basic skills of the game... It was an appalling display from both teams... Getting concerned that selection is now more to do with fitness rather than skill levels :( ...

I actually think England have come on well, defensively they were very good, very few penalties and forced Scotland o make the errors... I think England will not concede many points this tournament...

England: defended really well but pretty limited going forward and really needing someone like Wilkinson or Dallaglio to step up to the mark. Foden looked threatening. Well done to Robshaw and Lancaster for getting a win in their first games as coach and captain.

Scotland: basic skills lacking. Custier and (especially) Parks should retire with immediate effect. Should have won the match given their posession and opportunities but the red mist descends when the try line is in sight. Andy Robinson must be apoplectic with rage.

Overall a pretty poor game, flat atmosphere and not much fun to watch.

Hopefully Ireland v Wales will provide some exciting rugby; Wales beat Ieland against expectation in the World Cup and I suspect that the Irish playing at home will win this one.

Yes England didn't really do anything going forward, but was very impressed with the defensive effort and doggedness for such an inexperienced side. No shame in winning ugly on Saturday with nearly every 'expert' predicting them to lose. Going to Rome next week will be another tough trip for them, but if they can improve on the Scotland performance and pick up another win, then no reason why they can't give it a real go against the Welsh.Thought the game yesterday was absolutely fantastic and was deserving of a grand slam or triple crown decider rather than an opening clash. But that is the beauty of the 6 Nations and why it is far superior to the tri nations.

The Ireland Wales game was an absolute cracker, and suddenly my tip for Wales to win the championship, with their 3 home games to come, isn't looking so rash. Inconsistency in the yellow cards was noticeable. As per Phil Matthews in commentary, I thought the Irish one was harsh, yet the Welsh was a straight red: off the ball and a proper flip and drop. Bad news.

France are still the team to beat though, even if they weren't that convincing against Wales.

England and Ireland scrapping it out for 3rd. I'd love England to win it, but they are too much of a transitional side to really challeneg this year.

You could be on a good bet alright ..I had ireland to win the triple crown, so i think that will go to wales now .. France for the slam.. i cant figure Scotland out , they are so close to geting it right but just fall short .. the Eng v Irl game will be interesting but as you correctly say Eng are in transition , we have our settled side so it will be bad news for Irish rubgy if we lost that .. Good game yesterday pity the 2 questionable reffing decisions (well 1 was touch judge) take a bit from it .. End of the day , a win is a win, well done wales ..

Disappointing game for you to lose, but it was so tight and could have gone either way. Some positives as well - Sexton is really growing into the 10 jersey - the composure he showed to take the ball so far back from the gain line for Tommy Bowe's try was impressive.

He saw they weren't going anywhere hammering away at the 5m line, so decided to change things and attack from the space. Takes some real confidence to give up that territory and change the plan. But hell's teeth, he doesn't half take a long time to take his place kicks! Like watching Jason Day play golf!

As for O'Connell - immense hardly does justice to the quality of that fella's game. What a player.

Can't wait for the rest of the tournament - still a lot of twists to come I think

He had to mate, the ball off the ruck was taking nearly as long as Sextons Kicks (painfuly long) quicker ball would have given the forwards their reward for all their hard work & boy were they earning every inch near the line ..
