So excited that this kicks off today. One of the best annual sporting events. Really looking forward to it. Having tickets to England v Ireland at Twickenham helps a bit. :)

I am going for Ireland as the overall winners with Italy picking up the Wooden Spoon.

I have a sneaky feeling that the jocks will pip the English later today.

Let battle commence.

Looking forward to this also, I have a ticket for Murrayfield today and being a football man I'm unsure as to how the atmosphere etc will compare.

1 thing is certain tough, Murrayfield will be freezing.

Yes, so pleased it is back and looking forward to seeing this new look England side. So far the squad and team selection (apart from Hodgson!) and the talk from the management has been positive so fingers crossed. Should be a cracking game and atmosphere at Murrayfield today.

You will love the rugby. The banter is great as there is no need to segregate fans and there is no booze ban in the grounds. The atmosphere at a 6 nations match is superb. I have France down to win but have a sneaky feeling that England will play a blunder today. No logic to that just a gut feeling for a team of young and enthusiastic newbies coupled with more experienced players with a point to prove after the awful world cup.

Hodgson a continuity selection to try and make life a bit easier for barrett and farrell, that said theres hardly a queue of world class fly halfs stating their case for the spot. Can make a decent enough argument about the 9 shirt too for England

Ultimately it will be the tactics rather than the personnel that are more important for England

Love the 6 nations, probably moreso than the WC.This years will be tightest for ages imo, with France or Wales my tips. The great thing about this year is any team can beat anyone.
Usually go to Murrayfield, but it's Scottish cup day and I've not missed a fixture for years in the eternal quest for my team.Go to either Paris or Cardiff, so it's Cardiff this year, always a hoot.

The atmosphere will be immense. The camaraderie is immense and the pubs are aching with quality fluff who like their sport. Another perk is you can get stuck into the swally during the game.

Enjoy m8

My boss was in your position and he was most surprised about 2 things:
1. No separation of 'opposing' fans anywhere - including pre-match pubs!
2. Everybody applauds good play, whichever team does it.

Going to be slightly different at Upton Park today, when my mob take on Millwall!

I'm a footy man myself but love the 6 nations, great atmosphere, you get a beer and the banter is top notch. The opposition fans actually appreciate good rugby which I found wierd,I'd never applaud the oppo team in footy.Anyway stuck offshore at the moment but have tickets for the Millenium next week with the missus, she's Welsh and I'm a Jock! Should be fun.
On a sour note she has bought our two kids Welsh tops grrrrr

My game today was canceeled due to a frozen pitch so I will be off to see what ales are on tap at various spots around Leeds. I will be cheering on the Scottish today because I know it will amuse the England fans. Game of the weekend will be Wales v Ireland tomorrow.

You are lucky that nobody called social services. Making any kid wear a Wales shirt is a clear case of child cruelty.

When I went to my first international at Twickenham in the 70s, I was amazed at the Irish whiskey being passed around from the Irish fans to the English. At 17, I took full advantage. Superb sports events with none of the stupidity in the stands.

Wasn't a thriller and it didn't go anywhere to deciding Englands credentials as a re-emerging side. I don't think the Scots did themselves any favours and there were too many unforced knock ons when they had possession in dangerous positions or after numerous phases and were building pressure. Still a win is a win although I think both Wales and Ireland will turn the English over this year

Why kick the ball into the arms of the opponents when you have battled for and gained possession? I dont understand the modern game.
