Interesting to see that the reports that the charges against Scheffler were getting dropped were innacurate - and the case is still proceeding.
What are people's thoughts on this - there seems to be a lot of opinion that it's the wrong decision, but having said that, should Scottie be afforded the privilege of getting the charges dropped because of who he is, or is it correct to go through a proper investigation and trial?
Lock him up and throw away the key. Make an example of him.Interesting to see that the reports that the charges against Scheffler were getting dropped were innacurate - and the case is still proceeding.

None of us were there of course, but from the descriptions of what supposedly happened it sounded like a US cop being overzealous trying to make a name for himself. I mean, the '2nd degree assault' charge apparently refers to the fact that the cop put his hand on the car and Scottie didn't slam on the brakes immediately. He was told to drive where he was driving by one traffic cop only to be stopped by a different one. Sounded like a ridiculous situation. Would be incredibly out of character to imagine Scheffler charging around in his car trying to run over police officers.Interesting to see that the reports that the charges against Scheffler were getting dropped were innacurate - and the case is still proceeding.

My thoughts are if the police guy had his camera on we could see what all the fuss is about.Interesting to see that the reports that the charges against Scheffler were getting dropped were innacurate - and the case is still proceeding.

It's the US though and as we are witnessing certain people certainly seem to be above the law. Same with our country though. He isn't above the law.

Is this privilege actually being alleged by anyone?
Ive seen plenty of people alluding that they should drop charges based on who’s involved.
People of any significant standing, or people making noise on social media?Ive seen plenty of people alluding that they should drop charges based on who’s involved.

Social media of course. Why ask the question.People of any significant standing, or people making noise on social media?
Social media of course. Why ask the question.
Are they "significant" enough to warrant any charges being dropped?Because if its e.g Brandel Chamblee or Rory etc etc suggesting this, then its worth discussing. If its just #fanboy63 then not so much

Because, if I was to bring up the conversation on a forum based on what others have said publicly, I'd only do so if I thought the opinions where of high enough standing to discuss. Whereas, if I saw silly comments from nameless social media accounts, then I wouldn't see that as anything worth discussion.Social media of course. Why ask the question.

Agreed but ultimately it will surely come down to a judge to make that decision and any form of speculation won't change that decision based on the evidence they have at hand. Surely it has to go through due processNope, but they are significant enough to discuss their opinion charges should be dropped (which is what Mel was asking)

(if it were true)
