YouTubers.

I want to watch this stuff but the bloody videos are getting longer and longer. Literally movie-length now, who has time for this!?

I watched / listened while plastering a ceiling last night then soaking my weary bones in a nice hot bath afterwards. :ROFLMAO:

Also worth a listen - the Good Good podcast with Bryson, but that is looong.
BDC can’t say as much in it as he wants to, but reading between the lines, it’s quite telling - but that discussion would be for the LIV thread, not this one. (y)

To summarise for you.

Rick, I think I’ll hit a chippy 9 iron 170. Comes up 20 yards short.

Bryson, I’ll send this one. And is constantly hyped like someone who thought it would be a good idea to do a line of coke before their office Christmas party.

Lots of Bro that was so good, bro, bro. And some dodgy editing.

Bryson is classic US preppy bro and Rick is embarrassing uncle trying to be cool.

I often start to watch but when after 5 minutes they're still fannying around on the first hole, I tend to jump to the last couple of holes to see the result.

Fully aware of DPGC...sadly, the range isn't the same as what is available direct from NLU, so will tend to order from them.

Rhoback, Levelwear and H&B don't ship directly from the US to UK though - if they did, it could be a bloodbath! The stuff is so good, and so comfortable

I find myself frequently looking at the NLU x H&B clothing on the NLU website and have gone so far as adding to my basket but haven’t quite managed to press the button! Just worried about ordering and finding the sizing isn’t what I want.

You can usually find a good size guide on the H&B website, which will help…but yeah, it is always a bit nervewracking when ordering a few items that can total a few hundred bucks

I watched a match this morning but the 'youtuber' was the DPWT and it was a couple of regular joe type ET players, way better golfers than the common or garden youtubers but terrible at the presenting/banter. Turned off and put the RC film on. I'll try again in a day or two

Most YT golf is leaving me cold these days.....there's a limit to how many times you can watch the same people hitting the same shots, making the same comments, trying to be funny and failing, the same "guests" doing the rounds and doing the same thing on multiple channels. "Can I break par on course X, G or W"....I'm not sure I care enough.
Even my beloved TXG/Club Champion have lost their way, lost their identity and, as a result, lost appeal.
Some videos are just too long...I used to watch AskGolfNut live Q&A videos....very informative until I had to stop one after 2 hours...went back to finish watching the next day to find another 2 hours worth....too much.
I still watch the odd video and, to be fair, I do watch most of Iona Stephen's output but I can see that going the same way in a year or 2 if she continues that long.
With the exception of our very own Crow, the platform is awash with wannabees who have very little talent, not much skill and are there to try and be "influencers "
It must be pretty difficult for these guys and gals, trying to come up with new ideas in a market that's been flooded.
Just my take...I don't feel I'm missing much...

I think I'm in a minority. Crossfield, Coach, Dan, Ask Golf Nut, Club Champ/TXG, Precision Golf et al. I love 'em all and tend to watch for an hour each day both before & after work. Sad, I know...
Due to health I can't play as much as I'd like, so they take me to a happy place.

Exactly how I feel. I've stopped watching golf videos unless it's a course I've played, or it's NLU Tourist Sauce or Strapped.
It's not just golf though. I watch High Peak Autos and Mat Armstrong and they are pretty much the same - rinse and repeat.
As you say, it must be difficult for any 'tubers to be original. It's more likely us viewers will find a new interest and search on that instead of have something that catches our eye recommended to us.

This 100%!
Content is too similar across people, same guests same ‘banter’.
I happened upon golf mates yesterday, 2 guys playing a 5 hole match with handicaps of 9 and 14, how can that standard of golf be of interest to the masses? Surely we all see that every day at the course? As affable as they may be as people I fail to see how I can become invested in a match between 2 players I don’t know or care about of that standard.
For me YT golf is good if I’m away to play a new course and someone has done a video on that course, you get a feel for what it’s like and get to see some of the holes.

I used to watch the NLU stuff but even they now are far more commercialised and mainstream, the switch from Callaway to Titliest shows it all really, used to bang on about how good the Callaway stuff was and as soon as the sponsorship changed so did their attitude, now don’t get me wrong I understand why, but it just casts a shadow over all their content in my eyes, sell out to the highest bidder, all the while slagging off all the players who went to LIV for the money

Just for another perspective - I find it more interesting to watch people of a similar standard to me playing a match and having banter because it's relatable. Much more enjoyable than watching someone hit wedges 180 yards into a pristine green on the PGA tour and then getting angry that it's 20 foot from the pin. Can't relate to that on any level. Take someone like Tubes for example, he's ecstatic and punching the air if he hits a green - I find it kind of endearing.

No doubt it’s more relatable, but for me at least, I’d not go to the park on a Sunday and watch a pub Sunday league team over a prem game because they are more on my level.
