I didn't even realise he had left his channel until YouTube put up some random fitting video with 2 guys I'd never seen before and I was subscribed to the channel. Club Champion have done a total takeover, renaming the channel as well. I wonder how long before LIV give Shiels the same treatment. I think Shiels can see the writing on the wall, all the young American channels are taking off and he's not going to be top of the pile for much longer so has cashed out. Can't blame him.I think Ian Fraser, now of The Fraser Golf Institute and formerly Club Champion and before that TXG, now does podcasts. I have watched one on YouTube but assume it must be on audio too. One of the most knowledgeable club fitters out there and very easy to listen to.
Think Ian's new channel will be better as its focussing on all aspects of the game, not just the technical fitting stuff. He is supplementing his technical insight with coaching from his former life as a PGA professional. I do find him very easy to watch/listen to.I didn't even realise he had left his channel until YouTube put up some random fitting video with 2 guys I'd never seen before and I was subscribed to the channel. Unsubscribed from the Club Champion channel but to be honest I had hardly watched it since Matt left the channel anyway.
^ I listened to the one with Randy and some other guy from No Laying Up. It was weirdly good. Anton just seems like quite a likeable bloke and Sarah Stirk is good at keeping it all on track.
Randy was also a great guest and it made me miss old NLU, when he was on it a lot more![]()
I just tried one of the Putt & Strut episodes - Anton does seem to like the sound of his own voice and interrupting the emails getting read out, which could get annoying - but Sarah as you say is a consummate professional and keeps it rolling nicely. I'll keep following them I think, I like the fact that the episode length is quite short so I could chuck one on when I've run out of any others to listen to.^ I listened to the one with Randy and some other guy from No Laying Up.
